Contacting IC from the US?

I am amazed at how difficult it is to contact the IC portion of AI. I have a webticket (in D class) for an IC operated flight in a few months. When you call AI they deny that it is even possible for a PNR to start with "R". It is one thing if they want to say "Oh, that is our IC branch, you need to call India directly." But they act as though it is impossible to have such a PNR.

From the US? Its a pain getting anything done with IC within India, AT THEIR OFFICE, for that matter! Sorry to be so negative, but unless you're lucky to have a really knowledgeable and helpful person take your call, you're going to be left spinning in circles...

Having said that, there are quite a few on this forum that might be able to give you specific direction. I for one can't, because I stay away from AI/IC as far as possible.

Back when they used to have a separate website, IC had India tel. numbers that they would occasionally answer. Not sure what the situation is right now.

They have provided me with India telephone number. I haven't tried yet. I am mostly concerned about getting assigned seats for my flight, so I tried email first.

You arent going to find too much of a problem getting free seats in J on an IC flight. And these are all under 3 hours on 320s so one seat is much like the other. Dont worry about it

The flight is codeshare with AI (DEL-KTM). You are correct that it is under 2 hours, but it is already sold out in all classes (for October).

Fair enough. You can check in a bit early and get the seat you need .. I seriously doubt AI has olci on that route.
