That's good news, many thanks! :tu: Makes QF crediting a whole lot easier if I decide to start racking up status there...
And thank you as well for the tip in looking up tier points in case I do need to credit to AY, as the system does show the amount to be credited to Iberia which you can then correlate as you mentioned to the fare basis chart. The only problem I'm seeing now is that out of all the three business class options available at booking... they all seem to fall in the RI fares as it's offering me 75 status points (with Iberia) no matter which biz option I choose! So I guess JCD must be used in other (long-haul) flights and not those to the Canaries... |

If you try to buy 9 seats then you probably will be in J or C...try it it should say 900 EP...
I'm still lost in the woods as to where I should go with crediting my OW flights. My recent journey that I credited to AY would have given me DOUBLE the amount of Avios had I credited it to IB+ instead, not to mention gaining Plata status right then and there (distance-based vs spend-based). My real (though probably unrealistic) target is the lifetime tier but there's a high chance I'm kidding myself by thinking I can achieve it on OW. It seems that AY and BA are beyond my reach, which leaves IB and QF. Living in Spain IB seems like a safer option, but 125,000 Elite Points seems like a huge mountain to climb. QF, on the other hand, has lifetime tiers for OW Ruby and Sapphire and not just Emerald, so it seems like a safer option... Does IB+ sometimes have any offers to speed up Elite Points accrual? Such as flight promos that gain more EP or the ability to convert some Avios into EP? |

Good point, even a single seat on a date+time when the ticket price is high will generate 100 Elite Points, regardless of it being the basic tariff.

you can "convert" avios to EP by buying a flight with cash+avios you still get the full EP...
Is there any way to gain additional EP (other than flying), such as special credit cards or promos where you can convert avios into EP perhaps (Finnair offers this)? |

Interesting, so you can basically earn EP by flying on redemption flights by using the cash+avios option? That certainly helps. :)

No. It's not redemption flights.

Book W (cash) and avios upgrade to J/U...not exactly directly converting avios to EP but huge $/avios value....

IB is only JCDRI, and if QF treats them all the same, then the better/easier...
So ..... can I be confident that Iberia Express MAD LPA in business classic will carry one of those five fare class designators - most probably I ? With spectacular bad timing last year, i rationalised my sprawling empire of Oneworld accounts (BA, IB and QR) to concentrate on BAEC. I'm now dusting off my QR Privilege Club credentials, and hope the LPA trip will credit to that account. |

I'm a BA Silver and looking to gradually work my way up to IB Oro. To share a data point on an IB Express flight that I took in biz, this got recorded as a business flight in IB+ |

Is there any way to tell a booking fare class (in business) before finalising a booking and getting an email (that hopefully states the fare basis!)?
I'm currently trying to book a business class flight but there are three options available and the booking fare basis is nowhere to be seen. Are there any other sites that you can book an IB flight with but happen to show this info before completing the ticket purchase? |
