Canaries have LPA, TFN, TFS, ACE, or FUE

The biggest resort areas are the south of Tenerife or Lanzarote.

I would certainly not let it dictate my choice of island and airport in the Canary Islands, but Iberia fo have widebodies going to LPA from time to time (not sure about any other islands currently) for cargo reasons.
Which means you get longhaul seats.

If you would be in business class, that is plus. Not really relevant in economy.

I thought LPA (or indeed all Canary Islands) was all Iberia Express now?

Generally I2 and YW are counted as IB metal since they are wholly owned by IB (Rather than VY which is owned by IAG)

The Canary Islands are full of drunk Nordic tourists so I wouldn't recommend them.

Malaga is nice but stay away from Fuengirola.

La Palma (SPC) is also an island on the Canary Islands (Iberia Express flies there too). It's generally not known, but indeed a little gem. A few weeks ago the FT wrote a nice "fast-track" article about the island, since EasyJet started flying to the island in October. It's a very nice island if you don't want to have many tourists around you and impressive scenic landscapes.

What about a nice vacation at the Club Med, Senegal or a Nairobi safari?

No they aren't... The Canaries have crazy resort towns, quiet picturesque villages and everything in-between...

worth noting the original post is nearly 2 years ago - guessing the travel is now complete.

OP - as we are here... where did you go?
