IB booking codes

Hi,

Can't find fare codes for Iberia's and OW partner airlines fare famiilies, would be fantastic if someone could help.

I've been trying to figure this out for quite some time now and I haven't been able to find previous topics in the forum answering the same in an up-to-date manner. I've tried IB customer support it seems they have had either no training in answering other than copy pasting whatsoever, or seem unwilling to share this information.

Thanks in advance

I've been wondering about this too. Their website states just:

- For full economy, 1 mile equals one Avios.
- In Business Class, 1 mile earns you 1.5 Avios.
- In discount Economy, 1 mile gives you 1 Avios.

Does anyone know which booking classes go into each fare bucket?

For OW partners it's only Y what's considered full economy while for Iberia own flights it's Y, B, H fares. Everything else is considered discount economy.

I see. So it's not a very beneficial program if you fly much in Economy on partner airlines..

What about Premium Economy?

Do you know which booking classes count as "Basic" fares on domestic and European flights, which earn even less than discounted economy?

Thanks!

Both of IAG's Avios programs (IB&BA) are quite stingy on status from economy alone. That said, a single transatlantic being enough for a domestic return is quite nice and provides a very tangible benefit very quickly. Premium economy books as if it were full fare economy.

I have no idea as to which fares go for which as I either need full flex or discount economy.

With B and H you normally get full-fare TPs

Thanks, JuanRos!!

B and H earn according to Discount Economy for redeemable miles but as Full Fare for TPs, then? What about "Basic" fares?

It does indeed seem a bit stingy that all economy fares but Y earn as Discount Economy on partnering airlines. Does that apply even when flying on BA?

From my own experience and as regards of Iberia's TPs: Y got me always full fare TPs, B (this inventory usually refers to corporate agreements) got me always full fare TPs and have never flown H.

As regrards of BA I'd check the avios/TP calculator.

I see, so assumably, just like julianin mentioned, B and H earn as Y then.

Cheers!

Basic are N,O,Q,P fares where the fare code ends in 4K.

Check page 4 of this document where you can see what fare codes correspond to classic, basic and flexible but again (sorry it's in spanish!!)

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...castellano.pdf

Premium economy gives you 1,25 avios per mile and full economy fare TP's on Iberia Plus. I haven't flown Premium Economy in companies other than BA so can't say if for other oneworld partners the same applies.

I just hope that IB Plus would have a proper earn table on their website like BAEC does!

Hey Julianin,

Excellent information! I browsed through the document and seems it's got all fare families listed. Thanks a lot!

Agree that the website should contain full information, and why not also a calculator.

Do you recall what you earned on the BA flight in Prem economy?

The below applies to BA, IB metal doesn't have Premium Economy. I think BAEC only gives 1.10 Avios per mile now

Premium economy gives you 1,25 avios per mile and full economy fare TP's on Iberia Plus.
