Point Posting Question

I just moved to Hyatt from SPG and was curious how long it takes for points to post? Any guidance? I had a stay ending last Thursday and the points have not posted yet.

Thanks for your help.

Domestic Hyatt tends to post 24 hours after checkout.

Hyatt Place tends to post up to a week later.

Agree, points for all of my stays have posted within 24hrs. Sometimes, I do have to call GP D desk for any missing points and they have been able to post them immediately.

Thanks.

Its a Hyatt Place stay so I'll be patient.

Hyatt Place tends to post on Tuesdays - not sure what the cutoff day is before it goes into the following Tuesday - but yours should post on Tuesday.

Underpostings, mostly bonus points of any sort, are common. They are also cheerfully and promptly fixed with an e-mail.

CONGRATS peteropny on your 7500th post!

cheers.

Thanks!!! Not sure that this is something to be proud of ;) Shows that I either spend way too much time on FT or don't post enough (given that I've been around for 9 years and am a mod) :D

Pete, that's less than a 1000 per year! Less than 3/day! No, you are not posting enough :p

As someone who has been SPG Platinum for several years but first year Hyatt Diamond, I have to say that SPG does a much better job posting bonus points. I think on average I have to contact them less than once a year. With Hyatt, I think it has to be at least 70% of time that bonus points do not get posted until I contact them.

I generally agree that 60% of my Hyatt postings are missing bonuses.

However, once the Hyatt Diamond desk is contacted and I request the bonus points, they always post within minutes, vs. the ~5x a year I contact SPG Plat concierge to correct missing points it takes one or two days to post and/or a multiple calls...

I too am perplexed as to why it is taking so long for my stays to post. Having read this thread I will be patient for another day regarding my HP stay last Wednesday (check-out last Thursday). However, I am perplexed about my Hyatt Suites stay (checked-out on Friday) and nothing posted. I checked out of the Grand Champions yesterday and nothing in the account today either.......

It is especially frustrating as I am now so close to Diamond.......

I thank the OP for this thread for I was wondering about the same question. I have been spoiled by SPG's posting of my stays 1 day after check-out so I was a bit annoyed to find that 3 days after checking out of the Hyatt Morristown this past Saturday, the stay has yet to post to my account.

Now I know something is wrong. Who do I contact? The hotel or GP and how should I express my frustration?

And with due regard to the poster above, I am Diamond, so I don't know if that was to have helped.

Just call GP Customer Service and they will take care of it. I recently waited about a week for a stay to post. When not even the 1W posted, I called Diamond Customer Service and was told that the hotel had mistakenly coded the stay as ineligible. He told me that when the hotel does that, they often fail to post even the 1,000 Diamond Welcome points. He took care of it over the phone, making sure I got not only my stay credit, but the G2 and 1W bonuses. I have found that if it doesn't post in a couple of days, there is a problem that needs to be brought to their atttention. As for HP stays, I have found them to be rather prompt. I have not had to wait for them to post on a Tuesday.

BTW, this was a much more positive experience than my recent attempt to get SPG to properly post a credit. They posted the wrong amount on a date 6 months earlier than it occurred. Even after I sent them a copy of the charges showing the date and how much was eligible for credit, they told me that the amount posted was adjusted for tax & gratuity, when those were not even included in the credit requested to begin with! They also told me that the effective date did not matter since having activity this year kept my points alive through the end of the year. Since I was trying to make sure I had activity to keep my account active for another 12 months, I was very frustrated at their inept responses.

There has been a longer delay for points to post over the last couple of weeks. My last 2 stays (both at full service hotels) have not posted for a week and I had to call to get them recorded. There are some changes going on (folios available on the web site) and the implementation of FFN/3k bonus plus all other bonuses/promos so GP's IT may be having some problems with the computer code. They rare eally not that stellar to begin with so this is no surprise I guess.

NJUPINTHEAIR Oct 13, 2009 9:24 am

Thanks all. Prior to reading the responses, I contacted the hotel and was advised that they had sent over the information to GP and apparently they have fallen down on the job. I am awaiting a phone call back from the hotel to give me a status update.

NJUPINTHEAIR Oct 13, 2009 10:11 am

Points and stay now posted. Of course, when I checked, they were the wrong amount -- had to yet again contact the hotel to set things right.

luxury Oct 13, 2009 10:28 am

I am remarkably frustrated at the length of time it is taking for stays, and bonuses, to post. It is especially frustrating as this last stay will make me Diamond and the stay was over a week ago. Called GP and was told to wait another week. I too have been spoiled by SPG in terms of posting speed!!

Try contacting the hotel if you can and perhaps you can put a fire under them on that end. The guys I talked to took care of it right away, albeit in a somewhat slipshod manner.

Thanks!! Called the hotel in question and they are working on it -- hope to have the stay credited by the end of the week. Also called GP and two of the three other bonuses have been added to my account. Still waiting on the DEL5K 5000 point bonus.....
