Question Points for dining/drinks?

Does anyone know if there is a way to earn Hyatt points while dining or drinking at a Hyatt hotel-based restaurant or bar? I'm a devotee of Starwood/SPG points and they allow you to manually submit receipts for additional Starwood point credits (above and beyond those I earn on their AMEX). But as Hyatt doesn't have a credit card, and my new office is right next to a Hyatt with both a restaurant and a bar, I would be more likely to dine at it if I knew I could get some points to apply to my Passport account.

Further on the above...

...I should also clarify that I would ONLY be eating/drinking there, not staying at the actual hotel. And yes, Starwood does offer point earning in that manner at its hotel restaurants/bars.

Welcome to the Hyatt forum bobinla - No Hyatt doesn't give points for dining if not charged to the room folio (obviously you must be staying).

Incidentally, I just completed a stay at PH DC, I was told by a front desk agent that GPpoints are not earned on meals eaten in th Blue Duck Tavern? I did not want to wait around to ask any other agents as I had already made alternate lunch plans for a local restaurant with friends, but still found that interesting. Does anyone know if this is indeed the case?

Don't know about your specific case, but points are not earned on outsourced outlets even though they are in hotel premise and can be charged to the room. Typically, shops, spas, garages and some restaurants don't earn points.

Most in-house restaurants earn GP points - I earned points for the "extras" at breakfast at the PH DC back in 5/08. However, there are some restaurants that aren't "owned" by the hotel (such as Ruth Chris at GH SEA), no points earned at these places.

Otherwise TerryK is correct.

Are points earned for these eligible charges when the stay is an award?

I did get points for dinner at the Blue Duck Tavern in my last stay at the PH DC. Points were awarded for food only, not for drinks, tax or tip.

I received points for dining at Blue Duck Tavern. I'm not sure what was included or excluded.
