Andaz Prague REVIEW - MASTER THREAD

Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced today that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement for the first Hyatt property in the Czech Republic. The “Sugar Palace” hotel project, currently being developed by UBM Development AG, will become the new Andaz Prague. Located at Senovážné Square, only a short walk from Prague’s world-famous Old Town, the 175-room hotel is expected to open in 2022.

Well that will be excellent...if it opens. Pity it is at least 4 years away even if it does.

Neat - glad this building is finally coming to life as a luxury hotel. It was announced in December 2005 as Le Royal Méridien Prague, with plans to open in early 2009 but never got off the ground. The Andaz provide some competition to W Prague when it opens in 2021, as well as the Fairmont when that comes online in early 2023.

Looking forward to seeing more lifestyle hotels from Hyatt on the map.

It's disappointing that the article doesn't have pictures of the exterior, lobby, restaurants, etc.

Anyone have any updates on this hotel? I am hoping to stay there next summer and wondering if they are really on track for an early 2022 open.

Some more pics from Andaz Prague

Less mockups and what looks like real life photos. Gets a lot of natural light.

Wow -- it looks really quite nice. I wonder when it will open for booking and what category.

Well I stand corrected. I was wrong by about 1.5 years and under normal circumstances I would be very pleased to be wrong.

Looks really nice. I was really hoping to stay there Summer of 2022, but unfortunately (as seems to be the trend in Europe) the standard points booking room does not appear to permit two adults and one child. You have to go up to a slightly more premium room, which takes it out of standard inventory. Maybe suites with points will open later.
