Quick question on requalifying for globalist
Looked through three pages of thread titles and didn't see an applicable one for posting, sorry.
Didn't I read that there was a change, and Diamonds/Globs now need 60 nights to re-qualify... that the 55 nights for re-qualifying (vs. 60 nights for new qualifying) was killed and now it's 60 nights be it for qualifying or re-qualifying?
If yes, I'm confused, as when I log into my Activity it says shows "43 nights to re-qualify" but I only have 12 nights YTD .
Thx
(mod feel free to move to appropriate thread)

Isn't any "qualifying year" (the period for which nights towards a 55 or 60 count) dated Jan/1-Dec/31, not Mar/1-Feb/28?

And just to cover all bases, if you achieve a higher level before the end of a year, you have the higher status for a longer period of time. For example, If you are an Explorist who hits 60 stays Jan-May 2020, you will have status May 2020-Feb 2022. Same situation and you're a Globalist with status that expires through Feb 2021, if you hit 60 stays Jan-May 2020, you have extended your Glob status through Feb 2022.

At the 50 night milestone, you get 2 TSUs.
At the 55 night milestone, you renew Globalist status.
At the 60 night milestone, you get 2 more TSUs and 1 Cat 1-7 night. If you were an Explorist rather than renewing Globalist, you will now be a Globalist.
There are also 70, 80, 90, 100 night milestones which can give one additional points or TSUs.
Now I'm just waiting for someone to come along and ask about achieving status based on points rather than nights ...

Did Hyatt actually confirm that this starts in 2019 even for requalifying Globalists? If so, there are going to be some very unhappy people who get the re-qualifying email at 55 nights and then don't notice they didn't get the TSUs and Cat 1-7 until it's too late.

Looking through the official T&C, it doesn't looks like they have any caveats. So as far as I can tell, you don't get TSUs 3/4 or Cat 1-7 until 60 nights.

So, anything is possible. I would certainly not leave myself in a situation where I could not easily get to 60, but I would not be surprised to get the TSUs & the night at 55

Rather than use the term, 'full diamond', let's go with Hyatt's term, 'milestone'.

Does someone renewing Globalist with 55 nights in 2019 get to keep their My Hyatt Concierge? Or has that become a 60 night benefit?

With the re-design of the app/website last week the "countdown" has vanished as well by the way. So there is no longer any 60/55 indicator - I don't like that at all even if it's just a cosmetic issue at this point.

I’m sure this will be fixed. The 55/60 distinction is mostly meaningless now, anyway, especially with 9 months left in the year. Everybody should be shooting for 60.
