UPDATE: Please read my posts below. I do NOT recommend buying the bed. We got rid of it after 2.5 years because it deteriorated so badly.

Hyatt discontinued to Hyatt at Home program a few years ago. I wanted to purchase one of the beds, but didn't need one at that time. Now's the time.

Luckily, I had gotten all the bed information, such as manufacturer and model number from the Hyatt Waikiki and was able to call to get info.

Much to my surprise, Sealy just restarted the program. Hyatt did not want to take orders any longer, so Sealy is doing it via their commerical orders department. I spoke with a very nice woman who sent me all the info I needed to place an order.

If anyone is interested:

have you found their bed better than some other hotel 'brand' beds ?

I may take up on this at a future date, but I am wary of pillowtop mattresses.

Not OP, but I found PH beds to be extremely comfortable. I regret not taking pictures of the mattress info in Milan or Zurich, but I did in Washington DC. I do not know if the mattress/sheets is the same at all three. Alas, it is a commercial only series by my internet search - BeautyRest by Simmons Hospitality, with Corinelli sheets. The guest purchase site doesn't show up anything.

This is awesome; I was looking into this a few weeks ago.

All the people on the bed forums say that these are just overpriced low- to mid- end beds. All I know is that I sleep like a baby on those beds. 10 hours straight, every time. I have slept through so many free breakfasts...

The people in the bed forums do say that it has something to do with how they make up the beds. I have noticed that there are some extra layers under there (no clue what they are called). Does this program come with all the bedding and everything?

The maximum there is underneath the sheets is a mattress protector but nothing else. Did you ask housekeeping at some point?

I wish that there was a worldwide standard for Hyatt beds but that doesn't seem to be the case. Especially in Asia some mattresses are horrendous (Bali).

Thank you! I miss the program, never could really use it as outside of US... but now also is the time we are considering new beds and the Hyatt beds have been the most comfortable ever. Thanks for posting!

The Japanese beds can be hardwood as well.

I generally only stay at Hyatt properties, but the few times I stayed elsewhere, the beds didn't compare.

All I've ever seen on the bed is a mattress cover and bottom sheet.

The program is only for the bed set. Not anything else on the bed, though I do seem to recall seeing the comforters were made by Pacific Down.

I got the original information from the VIP manager at the hotel who had get the information from someone else.

The VIP manager got the info for me, as well as info about a hypoallergenic pillow I loved. Turns out they bought them at the local Costco :) They were also available at Target and were really inexpensive. Best cheapie pillow I ever got :)


I just sent in my order form. Depending upon where you live it could take 4-6 weeks to get it unless you live near a factory. Turns out there's a factory in NJ and I could get it in 3-4 weeks. They are custom made as orders are received.

Be careful when buying hotel mattresses. Remember Westin Heavenly bed? The ones they sell online are not the same as ones in the hotel. In fact, Nordstrom stopped selling them because so many ppl returned it. The consumer version is an inferior product to the real McCoy. I was one of the suckers that brought one from Westin online store. I wish I didn't.

Update...

The mattress and foundation were delivered after about 5 weeks. Delivery service was excellent and took great care to cover anything they would walk on. They removed the old bed, which weighed a lot (it took 3 guys to carry it down the stairs) and set up the new bed and make sure it was centered on the wall.

We have been using it now for 3 months, and while it was stiff at first (of which we were warned) it has now become quite comfy and cozy.

I definitely would buy one again - and as I mentioned - the ordering process was a breeze as was completing the transaction.

I just looked at the mattresses, so I'll add an FYI.

The old Hyatt mattresses used to have one tag that read Sealy Posturepedic Pillowtop and then a second tag that read Hyatt Grand Bed plush pillowtop or Hyatt Grand Bed II. (Some had all that written on one big tag.)

The new mattresses only have a Sealy Posturepedic Pillowtop tag. This is the same for the mattresses going into the Hyatt hotels too.

I have to edit what I wrote before. If you look closely, at the bottom of the tag, the new tags say: made exclusively for Hyatt. ;)

I think they called it the Grand Bed when Hyatt was still selling them.
