70 - 80 - 90 - 100 Nights: Suite Upgrade or Points

I just passed 70 nights a week ago. I haven't gotten an email yet. Is that normal? Do I need to contact them?

You should get an email almost immediately after passing the milestone (70 - 80 - 90 - 100 nights). Probably a good idea to contact Hyatt.

mmgm Aug 30, 2017 8:43 am

Once the nights post the email with the choice is immediate

antonius66 Aug 30, 2017 9:06 am

Yes, you should contact them and ask, why did I bother doing 70 nights again since you give status to everyone every year for free with a fraction of that?

stvr Aug 30, 2017 8:05 pm

It occurs to me that one must wait 89 days to ensure the suite upgrade has the longest expiration possible. Crazy!

I've heard that they give you a month to select whether you want points or the suite upgrade, so you can extend the life of that upgrade for an extra 30 days.

This is the best news I have heard from WoH since it's silly inception. I have been wondering how to obtain a TSU that would be usable next NYE (without relying on requalifying in 2018) and now I know.

That is good news.

Do we get anything beyond 100 nights? Eg 110, 120...

Per the WOH terms and conditions the last award is offered at 100 nights.

(j) Additional Milestone Benefits: Globalists will receive additional benefits for completing seventy (70), eighty (80), ninety (90), and one hundred (100) Tier-Qualifying Nights during a Calendar Year. For each of these milestones, a Globalist will receive his or her choice of either: (a) ten thousand (10,000) Bonus Points or (b) one (1) Complimentary Suite Upgrade Award. A Member may receive a maximum of four (4) such benefits during any Calendar Year.

mnredfox Aug 24, 2018 11:52 am

I assume the New WOH CC nights count towards your stay number for these benefits?

sam_goh Aug 24, 2018 1:24 pm

Yikes, this thread jogged me that I might not have gotten\redeemed the 4 I got from last year

365RoadWarrior Aug 24, 2018 1:44 pm

Fascinating. I'm always above 100 nights, but I wasn't even aware of this - most assuredly no emails. It's not a meaningful benefit for me, but it does say something about communications. Is this new since the "Program re-work", I assume?

Why isn't an extra 40K points a meaningful benefit for you?

luvFclass Aug 25, 2018 3:50 pm

FREE PH CDG nights here I come

I just crossed the 90 threshold last week. I took the 10K each of my 70/80/90th nights. Emails was the day after the stays post automatically IME. My 100th will definitely be 10K in points again.

40K equals a lot of options.

What options are you getting out of 40K?

You have several (3, I think?) months, after they send the email, until you must decide between 10K points or TSU.

YMMV but last year they let me un-do a 10K choice and re-do it as a TSU. (It was still within the 3 months period).

This year I'll probably do the four bonuses (boni?) as 3 x 10k and 1 TSU.

I have plans to visit PH HND and PH SYD in 2019, with possible last minute travels to PH CDG at any time if work and rewards avail flow my way. 30K for a tax free night in any of these properties, and 1/2 way to another, or almost at C&P rates. My hope is to have a 7 night all points stay in PH HND due to the high local taxes there (19% I think). A very nice use of points, and surprisingly, for vacations as Hyatt Worldwide properties work for me in particular. Though Stariott St Regis is a very nice plan B. ;)

the real question is what do I do for stays 101++++?

My points go to my employers. Unfortunately, that includes points from my leisure travel too. Yes, I should care about getting all the points they are owed, but I'm not inclined to beat my head against the wall ensuring this.

Whoa! Grabbing your leisure points doesn't even sound legal.

Wait... how does that work? You mean, rates you book on your own, pay with your own credit card, turn into points for your employer??? What about points earned from credit cards??

Awful. Then I would get the suite upgrades for sure!

The points get redeemed for work travel, which is, I guess, about the same. I work for a not-for-profit/not-for-profits, so it's more-okay.

I don't play the credit card games. Actually, I can't, because I'm a 365-day traveler.

No one answered about the WoH CC nights counting, but I sure hope they do. If not, I'm wasting a lot of good legitimate spend on this card.

I'm also pretty sure they do count.

why would they not? They are elite qualifying nights, just like if you stayed at a hotel. Or are you worried they only count towards globalist and not 70/80/90, which would make no sense since the recent Andaz double elite nights count towards that.

I just feel like, with Hyatt, we never really know how things will work. After all of the misinformation over the 55/60 nights issue, I just have my guard up.

I’m already at 63N. My old CC statement closes tomorrow. I’m going to pay it off and then cancel and then open the new card. Estimating the whole thing will take a few weeks. I’ll post what happens, but I’m expecting the 5N plus multiples of two for spend will count.

Thr CC 5 nights posted before I even got the card and that sent me over 70 nights and triggered the bonus. I am now at 81 nights and the second bonus was also triggered on time so these nights do count toward the bonus thresholds.

OK. Cool. Glad that's working.

Ditto.

MSPeconomist Sep 7, 2018 2:16 pm

I suspect this has been asked before, but I cannot find the thread:

If someone REqualifies for Globalist by staying 55 nights, my understanding is that there are four TSUs given at 55 nights, the free cat 1-7 cert at 55 nights, as well as access to My Hyatt Concierge for another year at 55 nights. Is this correct?

Can I assume that the fifth TSA still requires 70 and not 65 nights?

I believe all of that to be correct, and most has been confirmed to me by my concierge.

I requalified at 55 nights last week and received four TSUs, a free cat 1-7 and my current and amazing concierge just booked me a night at the Hyatt Ziva using my cat 1-7 cert.

I'm under the impressions the fifth upgrade comes at 70 nights, and will know for sure within ~ 10 days

That is correct and the first bonus award is still at 70 nights. I cleared 55 nights and received all that you mentioned and then hit the 70 and 80 night bonuses on the regular nights schedule. Sadly, 100 nights will be reached too early in the year and I don’t have much incentive to stay at Hyatt past that. I am probably in the minority but why not keep these bonuses going past 100 nights!

AmericanCasey Sep 10, 2018 7:26 am

It would definitely be better if the choice were extended past 100 nights. But as for an incentive at the moment, there is the possibility of getting up to 60000 points from the current promotion running until November 30.

josephstern Sep 10, 2018 7:59 am

A decent incentive for going past 100 is just those good Globalist benefits.

Those places are generally overpriced anyway.

Thanks to the new Chase Hyatt CC, I'm done with them.

s0ssos Sep 15, 2018 8:48 am

Can anyone confirm how long these suite upgrade certificates earned at 70, 80, etc nights are good for? Is it like the new 4 you get annually?

"Suite upgrade awards earned on or after January 1, 2018 are valid for the same period as the tier status of the member at the time the awards were earned. The awards are valid in connection with reservations with a checkout date by the expiration of the award." So that means Feb 2020, if I choose it this year. So it doesn't make a difference if I choose it now versus later (as in make the selection of 10,000 points versus suite upgrade certificate)?
