So happy that I was able to make this contribution and that it has caught on!

Only feeb1 gets to decide what's proper plural form. It could be Globs, Glob, Globe, or even Glib.

I personally would go with "Globs" for the plural.

Thanks!

What is more serious being a Glob or being a Life Globber?

Wouldn't that be Globberist?

There are many to choose from here.

One's that caught my attention (from a long list) would be:

birds (sea) -- wreck. A wreck of Glob(s).
cats (general) -- nuisance. A nuisance of Glob(s).
locusts -- plague. A plague of Glob(s).

etc etc etc

Example:
(1) Hey Mike, i think several tables in the lounge are replete with Glob(s).
(2) Yeah, I noticed. It's a veritable plague of Glob(s) this evening.

Maybe a lamentation (swans)

It would never be a pride of Globs. No one is proud of that name.

A Flock of Glob

- I was checking into a HR last week and the lady beside me announced she was an "Experimentalist". I didn't know if she had the World of Hurt name wrong or she was in the hotel for some weird acts that I don't need to know about.

When people can't remember the names of your loyalty tiers and need the GED nemonic, which is what people do who haven't been able to meet the requirements to graduate from high school, you have a problem.

Club lounge staff member A:
Look at those fat Globs over there. They have been devouring the lounge spread all evening!

Club lounge staff member B:
Yes, well at least we have weeded out some of the freeloaders now that Explorists need to use certificates to access the lounge.

Club lounge staff member A:
Yes, and we're already saving money with the new streamlined breakfast service. Hopefully most of the Globs will just have the scrambled eggs from the big pot, and not even think to ask for anything else!@:-)

Club Lounge Staff B:
Yes, and it's good we're still serving this Canvas wine! That is enough of a deterrent to be a cost cutting measure in and of itself!

Club Lounge Staff B:
I know, that stuff is awful.

OMG that Canvas wine. I now know to completely avoid it. I had 2 glasses at the GH Seattle and woke up with an enormous headache the next day.

There are two "Glob" here tonight, with a few "Expl" as well, and maybe one "Disc".

It probably isn't a great idea to have a sign with the first initial and last name of guests sitting at the front door. Some folks might not want their information advertised.

And, I have a hunch the marketing geniuses at Hyatt didn't plan on "Glob" being the name that is going to stick for this program.

I know I'm arriving to the party late, (as a matter of fact, everyone else has probably left and the lights are turned out on this naming convention fun but hey, can't resist)...

Surely a lifetime Globalist (aka Glob) becomes a Gollum? (you'd likely look and feel like one after staying that long...

You can recognise the Gollum in the lounge as they are the person in the corner talking to themselves whilst stroking their membership card and calling it their 'precious' :D :p

I'll get my coat...

The proper term is a glom of globs, no?

dsquared37 Jun 4, 2017 5:13 pm

When checking into the GH Taipei last week the paper attached to the res info behind the lounge desk simply said: 'Glob'.
