I didn't get any snail mail offer from Hyatt based on my 1K status at United or any airline, but I did just now get an email offer of 4 stays between Sept 15 and Dec 15 for Diamond status through February 2005.
No instant Diamond status as some of you got...just after the 4 stays. The email doesn't mention any airline affiliation. It just states: <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">You are receiving this message from Gold Passport because your e-mail address was provided when you enrolled in Hyatt Gold Passport or updated your membership profile.</font> Edited To Add: Aaah. Waddaya know? I just checked my Gold Passport account online and it seems my Priceline stay did post as a qualifing stay. <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Current Tier: Gold *Current YTD Hyatt Stays: 1 *Current YTD Hyatt Nights: 2 *Only Hyatt stays and nights are displayed as they are applicable toward Gold Passport tier status.</font> [This message has been edited by PremEx (edited 09-04-2003).] |
Is there a way to search for Hyatt Hotels that have Regency Clubs?
I received the 4 stay offer via email. |
Just got mine after being away - I suppose through US CP. And since last night was Marriott #75, getting me to Plat for another year, I be trying Hyatt's out for the next couple months.
I was one of many complaining about US CP dilution last year so I guess it's nice to be on the other end. |

As a matter of fact, I have no reason to believe they won't count Priceline stays for this promotion ... |
I received this offer too ... the problem was I have a Gold Passport account (and I had even recently qualified for Platinum after a bit of a Hyatt hiatus) already that I've had for several years. I'm sure that Hyatt probably tried to scrub the lists they got of existing Gold Passport members, but our apartment number probably threw them off.
So, I received a new number with the Diamond offer, but want to be able to use my existing account ... I emailed Julia and she was able to merge the Diamond comp onto my existing account ... and I'll be making the four stays to keep it for an additional 14 months or so ... though I've long been a fan of Hyatt, this comp will definitely bring me closer into the Hyatt fold for the next 18 months! Also, my girlfriend is a Silver on US Airways and a few days after I received my new account with Diamond Comp (she also has an existing GP account), she received a new Gold Passport card with an offer to earn 2,000 bonus US Airways miles for each stay for the next few months. The offer repeatedly mentioned US Airways, so I assume that's why she was targetted (again, her name didn't get scrubbed because it didn't match our address with apartment number for some reason). |
<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by Beckles: PremEx, this is one of the beauties of the Gold Passport program, they always count Priceline stays towards qualification and other promotions, such as Faster Free Nights ... Thanks gregorygrady...I'm glad you noticed that in the terms. I didn't click on that tiny link until now.
But I wonder if in practice that will really hold true? Seems folks get stay credits towards the FFN promotions on Priceline stays. Maybe their system really doesn't differentiate? Have the FFN promotions of the past also specifically excluded Priceline stays in the policy, yet they did still magically count as eligible, in the end? |

Charge something small to your room (I made one local phone call costing a $1--88 mins accessing FT was great use of the phone line! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif). I got credit for my PL stay.

Does anyone know whether there are any Hotel Loyalty Programs offering their top-tier members comp status in Airline frequent flyer programs. I remember a few years back that Diamond Gold Passport members were given a one-year comp to Cathay Pacific Gold Marco Polo Club, and Platinum GP members were given Silver Marco Polo Club.
|
PremEx ~ Well, just make four PL stays of one night each after Oct. 15 and before your Diamond promo ends ... worst case, you only earn two free nights, which are easily worth the less than $200 that would cost you (just make sure to charge something to your room, say a $1.00 phone call, during each stay and pay for it with a MasterCard). Best case, you get the two free nights and Diamond status.
Actually, since you already have one stay year to date, if you stay four more you'll earn Platinum status in GP (not that it's worth much, but it is something) after four more stays even if you don't get Diamond. |
My Hyatt snail-mail offer was to Hyatt Plat on 2 stays betw. 9/15 & 12/15. I've been UA 1K for 9 yrs but a Hyatt gen. member at only 1-2 stays/yr. Maybe my Plat. offer will be upgraded to Diamond??
|
I just received a letter from CX's Marco Polo Diamond department advising me of the same above offer. Join GP and register with code. After just 4 stays (between 15Sep and 15Dec), get upgraded to GP Diamond Level.
Plus get 1000 bonus Asia Miles per night on top of the 500 Asia Miles one normally earns for each stay when one chooses to earn miles instead of GP points. Your stay would still count toward elite status. I'm already GP Diamond. But was actually worried that I would not requalify for next year. I was hoping on the Triple Stay offer to pull me through but thanks to the CX offer, this is better. [This message has been edited by Guy Betsy (edited 09-17-2003).] |
Be careful Guy Betsy, some of the posts in this thread say that in the fine print of the airline affiliated offer, that it is for new Goldpassport members only. Best to check your offer carefully, as it came from an airline too.

Thanks for your concern, PremEx, but I had already checked with Gold Passport services in HK and they confirmed that I will retain Diamond as long as I can fulfil the 4 stay requirement effective immediately.
In the letter I received, it also states: "If you are already a Gold Passport member, just call HYATT on +852-... or your nearest Hyatt Reservation Centre to register for the above offers by quoting offer code ... and your current GP number. " Hyatt will also ask for your Marco Polo number, and note that it's not just Asiamiles. You need to be Diamond at least I think. |

Just made visit #1 - Orlando Regency Grand Cypress. Traded Regency Club for a suite upgrade (had to ask, but very kind reception clerk was helpful and accomodating). Large choice of Amenities, too: one food (fruit plate, sausage/cheese, chocolate dipped strawberries, cookies), one beverage (bottle o'house wine or champagne, two beers, two soft drinks, carafe of milk).
Very impressed, will definitely make the other three stays before the end of November. ------------------ ...or passengers swim. |
I just made stays 1 and 2. I'll be through the 4 by Tuesday. I'm hoping stays over the next year are more like my fond memories of Houston and Chicago, not these 2 in the LA area. Air conditioners so loud I could barely sleep and an unordered 6 am wakeup call (after a late night) don't justify paying $32/night more than my regular Marriott in the area.

Hi There, Person from Hyatt guest services. I'm meeting new workers of the hotel indsutry everyday.
FT is a really neat tool for communciating it seems, 3 hotel companies reps online and counting! |
I am a new Platinum with 8 stays so far this year. I have been splitting my business between Hyatt and Starwood where I am a Gold Preferred. After seeing the info re the Diamond Comp promo I thought since I am also a Delta PM that I should receive the same comp with the 4 stays etc. After speaking with customer service I was told since I was a current Gold Passport member that I was not eligible. This seems strange to me. If the comp is extended to someone like me it would push me to change all my business to Hyatt for next year as I would undoubtedly miss the Diamond service once I got it for the rest of this year. One would think that Hyatt would have a little more foresight and reward their current members who might potentially increase their business. Guess I was wrong. Will keep splitting with SPG & Hyatt.

I too received the same offer "to retain Diamond" after 5 stays-COmpleted first of five but GP account is only showing credit as one stay rather than the "triple" mentioned in the promo.
Is one supposed to register??? I don't recall any mention of that in the mail I received. kelly |
kelly - i believe that the 3x stay credit will show up in a few days - mine did without registering - otherwise call to check.
|
Well I've completed my four stays for Diamond, lets see how long it takes to register
Edited to add: My Diamond status posted in just two days after my fourth stay of the promo which was Tuesday night.. the first stay was way back in February pre-promo as shown on my Hyatt account: Current Tier: Diamond *Current YTD Hyatt Stays: 5 *Current YTD Hyatt Nights: 5 [This message has been edited by TrojanHorse (edited 09-26-2003).] |
