It appears to be bookable again now, and my reservation shows up under my upcoming stays.

I guess this appears to be a case of the "sky is falling" when it was not?

Everyone can calm down now. The property is back up on the Hyatt site! I loved reading all of the doomer comments from 777 though...

Are they with Hyatt going forward? and is the former sporting club access still available to WOH guests?
End of doomer comments otherwise ;) My conversation with the hotel prior to reopening was no access to former Sporting Club For myself that was 70% of my deciding to stay at the property for decades and a proper breakfast Location too sweet |
Odds the renovations finishes in the next month? I've got a room booked for a wedding in a month and I'm wondering if I should book a backup room...
|
Update - gave them a call - they're soft opening on 10/1 for an event, and planning to soft open for existing reservations in mid-October for a full opening on 11/1.

Currently have the Hyatt Centric booked for mid-Nov... wondering if it is a good idea to switch over. Tempted to do it for the Unbound brand explorer.
|
People posting in the Hyatt FB group that it is moving from Hyatt. I still see my free night reservation for next year so who knows.

Can anyone with recent stay experience confirm if the valet parking can be charged to room (so free for Globalist on award nights)? Thanks a lot.
I booked with points specifically for the parking, the cash rate wasn't too bad ($500 for two nights after tax, gotta thanks the phily tax), while points is 30k for two nights. |

I stayed this past weekend. Definitely some re-opening pains - housekeeping wasn't fully trained (said they didn't have things, e.g. lint mitt, that they actually did) and the key readers into the building for after-hours access wasn't installed/working, but it was a decent stay. Not sure what they had before, but the room had "Who is Elijah - Nightcap" toiletries which smelled pretty good to me. I used points to book, and they told me that valet would be covered (Discoverist on the verge of Explorist), so I'd assume Globalist valet would also be covered. I had access to the Sporting Club which was very nice. However, the bridge connecting the two building was locked with a chain, so you have to exit, go across the alley, and go into the other building. Not a big deal since it was dry but could get annoying if it's cold and raining/snowing.

Do the rooms bathrooms look better in person? Did you dine there? I certainly see some improvement but was hoping for more luxury touches room interior wise. Website could be better with the photos especially after all that investment! |
