When should GP bonus points post?

I just stayed at 2 properties which had GP2000 promotions. I booked on hyatt.com and entered the promo code, but so far all I have seen post is the base points for the room charges. I seem to recall in the past that the bonus posted concurrent with the base points. Is it too soon to call and inquire?

Bonus points such as GP2000 should post with the hotel stay, since they are granted by the hotel itself, not by Corporate.

You should call GP customer service. They are REALLY good about posting them right away. Additionally.....if you flew to get to your destination, don't forget to ask them to post the "airline bonus 300". I fly US Airways to nearly every destination where I have a Hyatt stay. Sometimes the hotel does it, sometimes they don't. A lot of desk attendants don't understand this bonus; but it's 300 points per stay.

I'm not sure what all the participating airlines are in this bonus, but if it doesn't post, I call customer service and tell them that the US 300 didn't post. They'll post it right away. Email me if you'd like more details.

Other bonuses...like "stay 5 times at a resort and earn 7000 points", and the like, usually take months to post. These are corporate bonuses and take forever.

Thanks shinbal. I will give GP a call. Great tip on the 300 point air bonus - I was totally unaware of that. I flew in on UA and will mention that, too. Thanks again!

Can anyone confirm if UA qualifies for the 300 point bonus?

Thanks,

Yes, UA counts for the 300 bonus points.

I called GP today and they posted the missing 2,000 points right away and I got the 300 points for flying on on UA.

Very true...but CAUTION....be sure to ask at the Hotel for the bonuses. Reservations, which will apply bonus codes before a stay, doesn't like adding bonuses for award stays. Hotels and resorts at which I've stayed on awards, however, have happily posted them.
