Platinum level upgrades?
I will be staying at the Grand Hyatt Singapore. When I was Diamond level they NEVER once upgraded me to the Regency Club (in about a dozen+ stays), but they did allow me access to the Regency Club Lounge. Does anyone know whether Platinum members are allowed Regency Club privileges?
I'm also staying at Waikiki soon. At that property they ALWAYS upgraded me to Regency Club based on my Diamond status, irrespective of the rate I was paying. Does anyone know how high a rate you need to book to get a courtesy RC upgrade as a Platinum member at Waikiki?
Thanks,
Craigg

As a platinum, I have to use a platinum extras upgrade coupon. You get one of these coupons every third stay, and they rotate the coupon type. RC access is not a platinum benefit.
Last time I needed one (and I was eligible for a couple of them based on stays around January or so) I just emailed the concierge and asked for one using the email link on the goldpassport web site. I've found them very useable, especially when used when checking in with 800-CHECK-IN. Another great plus for frequent stayers at Hyatt's lower elite tier.
Unfortunately, you can only use 800-CHECK-IN for US properties.
When are you going? The only 2 I have expire 7/31, but I'd be happy to send you one if it will help.
The other thing you can try, if you don't have a coupon, is to simply ask or if you're willing to pay extra for the access ask how much extra it would cost at check-in.
