2010 Damage Done

At the prodding curiosity of a friend, I just added the numbers together, and the results are astounding. In 2010, I spent 209 nights in a hotel room, 135 of which were in a Hyatt property (110 revenue). I'm beginning to think that I don't need an apartment anymore. :(

Of course on FlyerTalk, I expect my numbers to be completely crushed by some super-frequent-travelers. How many nights did YOU spend in a Hyatt hotel (paid and award), out of total nights in a hotel, in 2010? (Part of me wants to further subdivide the question between alone and not-alone nights, but I shall refrain.) :p

I think I'm at 225+, unfortunately only about 60 were at Hyatts; I wish they had them at all the places I need to travel.:(

Out of 180 nights in Hotels I spent 67 nights in a Hyatt.

49 Stays/45 nightsGP
28 stays/40 nights SPG
28 stays/40 nights HH
38 Marriott

I was all set to drop MR, but when I was at 18 nights, they offered to renew Platinum for another 18 nights

notquiteaff Dec 29, 2010 7:51 pm

My nights away from home:

Hyatt: 42 (36 paid)
HHonors: 3
PC: 2
SPG: 0
other hotels: 0

friends/family: about 15

All but two nights were self-funded.

I feel fortunate to not be anywhere near 3 digits in my total nights away from home. And my bank account, too :D

HH: 32/nights 19/stays
SPG: 3/nights (award)
Hyatt: 6/nights 6/stays
GoldPointsPlus: 7/nights (between apartment and condo)
Choice: 8/nights (also between houses and way too long to stay at the dump we were in)
Priority Club: 10/nights 8/stays
Marriott: 3/nights

95% leisure. Next year I expect to maximize my GP Diamond status and requalify for 2012. 10 of the nights above were mattress runs so I'm not sure if they really count.

So how does one get Hyatt Diamond with 6 nights/stays?

I love these bragging posts. I'm happy to report 0 nights in a Hyatt out of approximately 60 hotel nights.

That's pretty much what I said in the equivalent SPG Year-End Rankings thread, putting me firmly into last place :D

Well... checked into the the Hyatt Regency San Francisco today. Upon my arrival the front desk clerk said... "Welcome Back... it seems like you live here!!! 60 stays, 130 nights ALL AT HYATT. Was a great 2010 looking forward to my Hyatt stays in 2011. Thank you Hyatt Diamond Customer Service for taking good care of me... ;)

129 nights on the road this year but only 7 with Hyatt.

I enjoyed most of my time at Hyatts. Too bad they're not everywhere I need to travel and they're often priced above what my employer is willing to pay. I've focused my loyalty on Marriott and Hilton over the past several years and will probably continue to do so.

Spent over 330 nights in hotels last year. Probably closer to 340-350. Don't own an apartment. 100% company paid for. Number of hotels: approximately 30. Number of cities: approximately 20.

Nights at Hyatt: 90
Nights at Independent Hotels: 200ish
Misc (Hiltons, Starwoods, Marriotts, etc): balance

My GP nights were way off this year - just didn't travel to the main cities where I usually get extended (15+ night stays) stays - mainly Seoul, Jakarta, HK.

Instead my extended stays were - Mex City (Marriott), KL (Marriott) & Colombo (Hilton). Have a bunch of trips to KL this year - hoping the GH opens there soon!

After being Diamond 4 of past 5 yrs I only had 16 nights this year...

Others:
Marriott - 28 nights
Hilton - 24 nights
Misc - ~50 nights

Total ~120 for the year

youngbru Dec 30, 2010 8:24 am

I was way down this year (I peaked at 199 nights away from home in 2007)

67 nights in a hotel
47 Hyatt (8 free)
20 ICG

I also spent 6 nights on an airplane

-An end total of 78 nights at various hotels, with 24 not at Hyatts.
-Longest stay at any hotel was 3 nights with 66 different ones visited this year.

Worst Hyatt property experienced: HP Miami Airport/Doral
