Rapid posting has returned

After a long time of posting not occurring for several days, my last 2 postings occurred the next morning. This is a big improvement obviously..

This has always been property dependant. Nothing has changed.

anyone seeing fast postings (within 24 hours) of Hyatt Place? I need check access to some points via a reservation this evening, and battling between A Hyatt Regency (1,000 G1 bonus) and Hyatt Place (2,000 G2 Bonus). Do you know if there is anything a local manager can do manually to make sure points are posted the next day or two?

Thanks!

Usually, Hyatt Place take more time to post. IMHO, you can simply post your past stay credit request after 72 hours your checked-out day. I doubt Hyatt Regency or Grand Hyatt will post faster points with the Bonus attached :)

Not for me, unfortunately :(

Haven't seen rapid posting at all this year still waiting for two stays that happened over 10 days ago to post.

Not only have I seen next-day posting on my (admittedly not very large data set of) two stays this year, but they both posted correctly with all bonuses, so no manual intervention needed. Great start of the new year! ^

I'm not sure how the posting actually works, but my guess is that each property has to send the stays information to GP (electronically) and when the sweep occurs, the stay/points will post to the cardholder account. If that's the case, I guess some properties are more diligent in clicking that "submit" button than others.

Just out of curiosity, why is it so important to everyone that the points post rapidly?

a. You need the points to make an award reservation
b. You travel so much that it’s too difficult to track your points if they don’t post immediately.
c. You like to have something to complain about.
d. All of the above
e. None of the above (and provide another reason...the more sarcastic the better)

The person who provides the best response to "e. None of the above" will win 10,000 gold passport points posted to their account at a date to be determined.:D

Definitely B as well. I routinely have 2-4 flight segments, 1-2 hotel stays, and 1-2 rental car transactions in a week. These are often a mix of vendors, transactions, billing methods, and promotions. If points post within a day or two, the details of the transaction are still fresh in mind and I can mentally audit the credit received. If they take a week or more to post, I've already started or completed a whole new week's worth of transactions, and it becomes much more difficult to reconcile.

E. Calling every airline, rental car and hotel customer service agent once or twice a day allows me to pretend I am juggling dozens of relationships with lovely persons of the opposite gender.

B and E ;). Just for the sake of 10,000 GP Points :), Frequent Traveller usually want to have every thing is neat and on schedule. If they realized that Hyatt Corporation points posting is taking so many time, it is a disturbing fact. Furthermore, more importantly, to saw HIGH "Lifetime Points Earned" and be able to reach top 1% in terms of Hyatt Gold Passport Points /OR The highest "BANK" for Hyatt Gold Passport Points can be considered as an achievement. For example: George Clooney in the FILM "Up in the air". This guy has earned and collected 10,000,000 Miles and did not even use the Miles for any Redemption or such. Any one here has been collected (not earned)10,000,000 Miles OR 10,000,000 Hyatt Gold Passport Points without any redemption?!Guess not:cool::cool::cool:

I'm enjoying the responses so far^

E.

We live in a real-time world where you can read my latest thoughts on twitter seconds after I had them. And Hyatt can charge my credit card in real-time, so why is it not reasonable to expect that the stay appears on my GP account at least at the same time as the payment charge appears on my credit card account?

Running batch jobs at the end of the day to post stays to a central computer somewhere is soooo 20th century.
