Posting Gold Passport Points?!
Just wondering ...
why does Gold Passport almost never get the automatic point-posting correct (from hotel stays)? I'm getting a bit tired of calling in :) |

Email is in my opinion the better way to deal with it, because I can explain/list all the relevant details consisely and spell out exactly what I expect to be done. Never had a problem with that. |
I've noticed that whenever I've used the self check-in kiosks at HPs I get the miles I want. However, I've had mixed success when using the FD people. I guess customer support is so lax with converting points to miles because they know the shortcomings of the system.

I realize it takes longer for miles to post, but how long does it usually take for the points to post? It's been over a week since I've checked out and I still don't have any points.

I did a weekend MR at the Grand Cypress to capitalize on the SUM5k, G2, and GREAT10k for a two night stay. got the hotel and DM points but still waiting on the 5k and 2k bonuses. |
Never get bonus
I almost never get the bonus points ( like G1 or G2) so I am used to calling the Diamond line after every visit.

Points never do seem to post...
+1 to the above...
I have to call in every time for the "G" promos to credit. I also notice that the points never fully reflect the monies spent. I know that we don't earn points for the taxes and resort fees, but I also notice that the points still never fully credit. It's consistently about 1/4 less than my point calculations. Hyatt sometimes will credit the difference, but lately they haven't been. Anyone else notice this? One big complaint is the T&C state that "valet" counts as an eligible charge, but per Hyatt reps, I've been told that "valet refers to the laundry sense" and no credit is given for any amount spent on valet parking. Anyone else have this issue? |

Banked 9600 gps for $126 ! |
For ever night i've stayed in Hyatt this year either they did not credit the bonus points (including welcome points) or missing GX bonus and low balled the base points. Cause i stay at hotels quite a lot so usually i wait till i have been credited 3-4 stays then send an e-mail to GP for all 3/4 stays with:
1) Hotel name and stay date 2) Copy of Receipt/Folio attached to e-mail 3) The amount of points credited and the amount that should be credited based on dollars spent/less tax and fees 4) Missing bonus points like GX, Welcome, Closed lounge etc. Ususally they take 1-2 days to get it fixed up but at least they will credit it right. But i wish they were like marriott in this department in getting the points credited (120 nights this year and none mistake) but i generally prefer staying in Hyatts so its give and take i guess. |

Of the last 5 stays I had this month, and checking out using the machines. Each stay was credited to points while I requested miles..... how hard is it to get this right? Fortunately after an e-mail everything was corrected in a few days each time. |
I tought it was just me. 0 for 3 in my last three stays getting it correct. Rather than calling I just use the web link to report missing credit. This morning I sent a request for G3 and I had the credit in an hour.
I ask our GP friends to please ensure this ongoing issue gets attention. My loyality is with Hyatt but this is a bit crazy. |
I love Hyatt ... I am a Diamond member ... I even signed up and got the credit card first day it came out (even though the offer & perks for Diamonds were not even that good)
But it kills me to see that almost every single stay does not have the correct posting of points! Come on guys ... let's get it together :) |
I have to agree with everyone's experiences. I have stayed at hyatts 20times in the last 5 months and I have had to call every time to get the diamond bonus. It is very easy to call and get the bonus; however this should not be the "norm" to call and get the bonus

Dear Flyertalkers:
We have a tip that will help prevent some of your G bonus frustrations. The G bonuses are an "ask for" promotion. Please make sure to ask the front desk agent, that's checking you in, for the G bonus. If you forget to request the specific G bonus code, we will be happy to post the bonus to your account, once the stay has posted. Nick B. |
