Well you could - but you won't earn any points for the the second room. If the second room on hotels.com is cheaper you can try to get a BRG even for the first room directly through Hyatt.

I just booked a European vacation for me and spouse in July and booked business class airline seats throughout using Delta Skymiles (delta diamond member) and want to use Hyatt (hyatt diamond member) points to book our hotels in Amsterdam and Moscow. Amsterdam Andaz has been booked using points but I am roughly 44,000 (22,000 points/night) Hyatt points short for the last 2 nights of our 4 nights in Moscow. Any thoughts on how I get there? Alternatively I can book entire Moscow stay at Hilton using HHonors points but I really prefer the Hyatt in Moscow. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Otherwise, consider paying for Amsterdam and use the points for Moscow. |
It's been a few years since i've booked with Hyatt. Is staying here still earning points OR miles? Or did they finally change it to earning both?

Booking Award using Friend's Diamond
Hey,
I wondered if anybody knew whether you can book an award using a friend's account if the points you want to use are in your account? I have an upcoming award stay booked using points but I am a lowly platinum. My friend is a Diamond and I would like to transfer my points into his account and then have him book an award reservation in my name using those points. Is that possible and will he have to be there at check in or will I be able to check in myself? And will I get all the diamond benefits? Thanks! |
Also, if I added a friend who is a diamond to my own reservation booked on my account in my own name, will his diamond status still be recognized and will those benefits be extended to me even if he never shows up?

There are three points redemption levels for each category: Standard Room, Regency/Grand Club and Suite. If booking a Suite using points, assuming no status, do you also get club access?

The Vancouver Hyatt told me "not necessarily".
Exclusive benefits include a 60-minute massage for one person per night at The Barai* and access to a lounge serving Continental breakfast, evening cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. *Treatment not applicable for any upgrade, suite award certificate or suite upgrade certificate |
Is the 15% pts bonus for PLT members added after stay, or calculated at price?
i.e. Scenario A. $1000 stay earns 5 pts/$ = 5000 pts + 15% = 5750 Total pts. Scenario B. $1000 stay earns 5.15 pts/$ = 5150 Total pts? I would think it's the former, but just making sure the hotel isn't screwing us =) |
You get an extra 15% of the grand total, i.e. Scenario A.

I just finished my 25th stay this year and thought this would extend my diamond status until 2015 but my account still says Tier Expiration: 28 Feb 2014. What gives?
