Here's the info:
http://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_C...-services.html If you do not want to take your bags to the hotel, you may check them in at the CX counter at Hong Kong Station. Otherwise, just go directly to either the Airport Express complimentary hotel shuttle bus counter or taxi rank to hire a taxi to Conrad. |

I don't care about the number of passengers, but I do care about the fact that my stop (CPA/GH/Ren) is among the farthest away from HK Stn. Though, I do wish I had taken it the few times I got stuck in extremely slow moving taxi queues at HK Stn.

Given arriving so late for 1 night, and why not stay at airport hotels? Shops doesn't really open until 11am. Saves all the additional travelling times.
But I would choose Conrad over W myself if that is the only 2 choices. |

Lots of great advice here but if it were me I would stay at the Conrad and do the following.
Check with original carrier about checking bags all the way through, if not just keep them and follow the below... Take the MTR into HK Station. Take taxi to Conrad... go explore LKF or Wan Chai... or both. The next morning do the same in reverse. You'll be able to check your bag at the HK MTR station. If Malaysia Air can't check your bags all the way through then don't mess around trying to recheck your bag on CX when you get there cause it will just waste your time to enjoy the nightlife. I have done the above in HK many times and I will probably do it again next month with the only exception being that I'll probably stay at the Renaissance this time. If you are flying business, and don't really care how you'll feel the next day, then don't hesitate to just stay up all night and go to the airport in the morning. Heck, I've even done it when flying in econ and lived to tell about it. |

Since their move to Terminal 2, storage facility isn't a very short walk anymore. http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/p...t-baggage.html

OP already at the airport, OP staying <24 hours. checkin for CX is perfectly ok. why not check it in whilst in the airport (which only involves going up 1 floor) instead of lugging everything to Conrad - you never know what happens the next day :confused:
The difference is, you and I have been to HKG before so we can get around quickly. We know how to get upstairs to CX. We know where it is and all of that. Not that it's difficult but spending the time walking upstairs takes well... time. The check-in area at HKG is huge whereas the check-in area at HK station in central is rather small. Also, need to correct my above. When I say "MTR" I mean "Airport Express." |
