Can anyone help with the main differences / desirability between:
1. Deluxe Family Room 2. Resort Ocean Suite 3. Conrad Suite |
Not sure about the Family Room but I am familiar with the other two.
Conrad Suites are fantastic accommodations in a separate building with their own pool, and also close to the breakfast restaurant and lounge which you will use as Diamond. Some remark that the pool is too quiet but I personally enjoyed that, and it is just a short walk to the main pool. The Resort Ocean Suites are also very nice accommodations, but not quite the standard of the Conrad Suites. Many open directly on to the main pool. "Disadvantage" (we're talking luxury problems here) is the distance to the quiet pool and the executive lounge. You can not really go wrong with either Suite type in my opinion. Enjoy! |
Be aware - there are multiple other perks available if you book a "Conrad Suite" rather than the other ones. One of those advantages is the quiet pool which you don't have access to if you are in the other suites. Nor do you get free laundry in the regular suites.
Not that I would ever go back to Conrad Bali personally, but I would recommend anyone who does want to go to stay in the Conrad Suite parts of the hotel. |
One follow on question and an observation.
Question. Would a HH Diamond have a good shot at an upgrade to a Conrad Suite Ocean View if they booked a Conrad Suite? Observation. Seems like a lot of posters are down on this particular property. And I must admit, reading through a bunch of posts I'm having a difficult time seeing the draw here. |

For the amount of points per night I was very pleased with the property, and coupled with the good breakfast buffet and free afternoon tea it was a great inexpensive vacation. Dining was just ok, not great, but we found that to be the case just about anywhere we went in the region. My biggest complaint about this particular area in Bali is that the beaches aren't all that nice, but we are spoiled in that regard having spent a lot of time in the Caribbean and Hawaii. I found service to be very good at the Conrad Hilton, and we had a great relaxing stay. |

Being Diamond we were told we could use the executive lounge and that we were also welcome to use the Conrad Suites "quiet" pool, as well as that building's breakfast restaurant, if desired.

For those doubting the property, you shouldn't. If you are looking for a nice quiet place like the Conrad Koh Samui, you will not get that here. If you don't mind lot's of families with kids running around, you will really enjoy it here. You can technically hang out the entire time at the Suite pool and not see many kids, but not a complete fix. All these observations are IMHO. |
I guess maybe I'm not sold in Bali in general, but trying to make a 1 week vacation decision over Chinese New Year.
An odd comparison - but has anyone stayed in both the Conrad Bali and the Ritz at Nusa Dua? |

I was told the pool wasn't part of what HHD got access to. But then again, this property lied to my face about not doing any upgrades as they were fully booked as well, so who knows what they will tell the next guest.
I have booked my parents 10 nights here next week, and I will be back twice over the next 6 months. It's no Conrad Rangali, but is very nice for the price and what it is. I use it as a pool break, just time to sit and catch up on my journals in between swimming. |

Unless you are a huge fan of expensive megaresorts in sterile artificial communities, it's foolish to stay here (or, for that matter, anywhere in Nusa Dua). I guess if you don't REALLY want to be in Bali, it's fine (aka Australians just looking for a beach resort). But if you're going to Bali to "experience" Bali, stay far away. I'd start with a nice villa rental in Ubud (which will probably cost you $100), and then maybe a villa rental in Pemuteran. Much better vacation at a fraction of the price. Bali is currently astonishingly inexpensive, if you stay away from the mega-resorts. Save your hotel points and status and use them elsewhere. You won't regret it.
If you're diamond on a paid stay, and get some benefits, it's not a bad place. I thought the club was pretty nice when we visited last month. I should have slogged to the normal restaurant for breakfast, but it was rainy. Yes, there are certainly some fabulous private villas out there, but some real dogs too. Make sure you get recommendations from a trusted source that has actually stayed there. |

It's really not in Nusa Dua, but in Benoa.

Make sure you get recommendations from a trusted source that has actually stayed there. Having visited Bali for more than 25 years, I've seen lots of changes. Heck, 25 years ago, I would have recommended Nusa Dua! With all the traffic and development though, I now think it's a terrible place to base yourself for a Balinese vacation. The exception is if you don't like small, personalized accommodations and prefer megaresorts where you're "just a number," and are simply headed to Bali just to lie on the beach and not take in any of the culture. FWIW, as a Gold (I'm now Diamond like everyone else) I crashed at the Conrad a couple years ago after a 20+ hour flight because I knew it's pretty close to the airport. The next day I moved on. This past month, I went straight to Ubud for my close-to-the-airport stay. It's less than a 1 1/2 hour drive. For me, it was definitely the right call. |
What's the logic behind the HHonors rates? Standard awards are 10k points more expensive then Premium Room awards. However, on the latter the 5th night free benefit is not valid.

Hey guys, need a little help here.
I've booked myself into a Conrad Suites in April as HH Gold and unfortunately only able to get a twin bed as somehow all the king bed had been fully booked (i assumed so as there were no suites with 1 king bed for selection during booking process.) I did leave a comment in my booking that I prefer a King bed. 1. Will Conrad Bali be able to arrange for a king bed for my arrival? 2. What will the complimentary upgrades be available? 3. Under my NOR1 upgrades, I see Conrad Ocean Suite Twin ($41/night) and Conrad Pool Suite King ($184/night). What are their differences and how do they differ from the conrad suites i've booked? is the above youtube video showing the Ocean Suite? as it is titled Ocean Front suite. Really like the minipool out on the balcony. |
Please see answers below.

1. Will Conrad Bali be able to arrange for a king bed for my arrival? The twin beds in the Conrad Suites section are really double beds. Email the hotel and they can push the two beds together and make it into one. The fitted sheet goes over both beds so the two beds really feel/look like one. 2. What will the complimentary upgrades be available? Email and ask. ;) 3. Under my NOR1 upgrades, I see Conrad Ocean Suite Twin ($41/night) and Conrad Pool Suite King ($184/night). What are their differences and how do they differ from the conrad suites i've booked? The Conrad Pool Suite is on the main floor and has a small outdoor pool in the "back yard" of the suite. The "back yard" is surrounded by a fence so that it blocks any view of the ocean. Plus, guests on the second and third floor can look down and you lose any sense of privacy. The Conrad Ocean Suite will be on the two upper floors and offer wonderful views of the wedding chapel and the ocean. Conrad Bali Resort & Spa - Ocean Front Suite with Private Pool HD - YouTube is the above youtube video showing the Ocean Suite? as it is titled Ocean Front suite. Really like the minipool out on the balcony. |
If I book through an OTA (hotels.com) will The Conrad Bali provide benefits normally granted to Diamond members (i.e. room upgrade and lounge access) ?
Thanks. |
As a Diamond if I book the cheapest room type what upgrades can I expect. What room type should I book.
Any help will be much appreciated. We have been going to the IC in the last three years but would like to try the Conrad. |
Hi everyone,
we are flying to Bali in 10 days, staying 2 days a the Conrad and afterwards 6 nights in Ubud. I remember reading somewhere, probably TA, about nice restaurants in the area, that even send you a shuttle to pick you up or that are in walking distance. Can somebody here give one or two recommendations? Thanks very much! |

Here is the answer that I got : As a Diamond member, you will have access to our Club lounge, please find the inclusion of the Club Lounge access as below: · Breakfast from 7.00am until 11.00am; · Afternoon tea from 3.00pm until 5.00pm; · Evening cocktails from 5.00pm until 7.00pm; · Complimentary internet access in the Club Lounge between 7.00am - 11.00pm; · 15% off laundry and dry cleaning; · 15% off restaurant and bar accounts (food & beverage); · 15% off Jiwa Spa treatments (except retail); · 15% off Business Centre services, including meeting room rental. The breakfast for our Club Lounge guests is served in our Rin Restaurant, located under the Conrad Suites Lounge. Special arrangements can be made to enjoy these benefits with younger family members in Suku for breakfast and East Lobby Lounge for afternoon tea continue with evening cocktails. The other benefit will be a complimentary room upgrade to the next room category up to Resort Suite. This room upgrade will be subject to our room availability upon arrival. If you book the room via the 3rd party, you will still enjoy the perks of the Diamond Member except the complimentary wifi in your room during your stay. The complimentary wifi in your room will only be applicable if you book the room through the eligible booking channel such as : · Direct channels: the HHonors app, our websites or Hilton Reservations & Customer Care (HRCC). · Approved third-party channels: IATA-accredited retail travel agent professionals or GDS; see hhonors.com/terms for more details. Typically, online travel agencies (OTAs) like Priceline or Expedia are ineligible for benefits. |
This is great detailed information. Now from experience what room type should we book?

Has any one stayed both at Sofitel Nusa Dua and Conrad Bali ?
The Sofitel looks likes a newer, much nicer property !? |

We hope above information suit you well, Please do not hesitate to let us know should you need further assistance, Thank you Best Regards, |
Emailed Conrad Bali about room types and bed types and was told that all king bed conrad suites are booked during my stay (29Apr to 2May) and that the only suites left was a Conrad Ocean Suite.
Was also highlighted to me that there is only one Conrad Ocean Suite in the whole Conrad property so if I wanted it, i had to pay for the room difference in advance to secure the suites. Since I wanted it to be a special for my fiance, my wallet took one for the team. Interesting to note that nowhere in their reply email was there anything that was complimentary. Everything had a price attached. I'm wondering if they're just using standard replies or it's really be raining massive moolah for the property? |
So what happens if I book the resort ocean suite?

FWIW, I found the Conrad suites worth the price without risking relying on an upgrade. Between the spacious room, nice balcony, in-room breakfast and the unlimited laundry, I thought it was worth a premium. We initially booked a 'flexible' rate, and then waited for a 30% (?) sale to lock in a much lower, non-refundable rate. YMMV. |
What would the chance be on an upgrade from the base room in July? I can imagine it will be fully booked in the high season.
As Diamond we'd still have access to the lounge, but I read somewhere (soft) drinks are chargeable there as well except during set times? |
I ate at Bumbu Bali down the road in December and wasn't impressed with anything other than their pork ribs. Overpriced, certainly. I eat Indonesian food regularly, but had stomach issues for a day after eating there.
We had our Uber driver drop us off there. We asked about the free transport, and was told no problem. When we finished an hour later, they told us we'd have to wait an hour for a ride. A bit ridiculous. |
Resort Ocean King is priced the same as Conrad Suite King, USD$290 p/n

I asked twice by email Conrad Bali how much they charge for room WIFI. Got no answer.
Poor service for a top end property. :td: As a consequence, I booked 8 night at Sofitel Nusa Dua instead :) Accor may not have the best loyalty program but Wifi is free in all their hotels, and platinum recognition at Sofitel Nusa Dua is excellent. |

As a Diamond we had free Wifi, upgraded to a 150 sq meter suite with large balcony, and the lounge was the best we have experience at any Conrad. When we had checked out and were waiting for our Car, the manager sought us out and thanked us for our stay. And this was all on an award stay.
Great Property |
I am going to book the cheapest room as a diamond, USD$164 and see what happens. I have written to the GM there as well.
