That would be good for different events on site or just for museum weekend.

Definitely, they have some really good air shows here especially if you are interested in vintage military planes like I am .
I don’t live to far away but probably best I stay over for research purposes.

We're all stuck at home at the moment. Hotels start opening next Saturday, 4th July in England, but not Scotland or Wales yet. Be interesting to see if we start getting some UK Hilton reports soon. We're considering a trip down to see family in Cheshire soon.

We visited IWM Duxford this past January after staying the night at the Doubletree Cambridge Belfry.

The drive from the hotel to Duxford was fine but having an on site hotel would have been great and we would definitely have stayed there.

Mate, I’m sooo bored and itching to start traveling again, problem is the music industry is currently a bloodbath with no gigs booked anywhere obviously........ this is the longest I’ve stayed home , I have been writing some new material and going for long walks to relieve the boredom.
As soon as it’s safe I will be back on my usual travels doing the trip reports too.....stay safe!

Yep, awful isn’t it...... I do have a booking at Hilton Canary Wharf for 13 July for my annual Thames walk but I will only travel if I feel it’s safe to do so........ that said some crazy cheap prices out there at the minute!

Good to see another UK Hampton opening. There are quite a few openings now planned for the next 12 months (at least if they all survive the crisis).

I am weighing up my first stay for mid-July. Is there any info on how UK Hiltons are going to approach things - breakfast, restaurants, cleaning etc.?

Now due in 2023

Hi,

Whilst planning a summer break ( looks like remaining in the UK) I was thinking of going down to london and then maybe 2 days in Cambridge to look at the IWM Duxford and came across this thread

Looks like it will be a 2023 opening now

Regards

From the mock ups and description I looks like th building could have justified something a bit further up the brand ladder than a Hampton.

Aprops nothing I wonder why the IWM were so cagey about discussing the projected income, the museum is a public body, so presumably that will all be in its accounts in due course.
