On a quick glance: not many metropolitan hotels are opting out. London hotels are back. Downtown San Francisco and Chicago are in.

Im glad i reached HHD before this promo - not as appealing as other promos - !
If you stay at a cheap hotel though (Bradford UK) then the point bonus is good vs the spend...? @:-) |

Yipee. 50 nights and I can earn one free night a a cat 7. Truly pathetic.
if I re-qualify for Diamond before the end of October, very likely no more Hilton nights for the rest of the year. |
I read through the FAQ and the T&C but still can't figure out if you get the bonus on a reward stay. If they do, cool, because Mrs. dwcatty and I have two level 1 stays in Nov & Dec. If we get the 1000 point bonus and the Amex 500 point booking bonus, the nights will only "cost" us 6,000 points each.

Another underwhelming offer. What really annoys me is that I only hear about this through FT. Nothing from Hilton and My Offers page doesn't even mention this.
|
Thanks for this info, I've been waiting to see what they offer for Q4.
So I just cancelled my Oct 23-29 Doubletree reservation and booked at the Sheraton next door. They're giving triple points. |
Pretty lame, not really enough to change booking behavior, and the list of opt-out properties is still many pages long. Ridiculous.
|
Doesn't start until November 1?!

Hi, can you combine the 1000 points offer with the Hilton's Virgin Atlantic promotion? Thank you.

That's bad, I have stay on Oct 21-27. |
This is about as minimal as they could get and still call it a promo. It is probably a waste given how few incremental bookings it is likely to generate.
|
Lackluster
Lame as expected, multiple stays in October, minimal in Nov-Dec.
|
This is very disappointing on Hilton's part. One can buy 1000 points for $12.50. Compared to other hotel promos like Marriott's or even SPG's, Hilton really dropped the ball on this. I am also baffled why there is an exclusion for earning the 1000 bonus points on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

I guess they do it because it is their busier nights and when most of business people travel. They could get away with it if other hotel chains did the same, otherwise for sure it will mean loosing business. Also this promo could make sense in the 1st quarter, when some people that struggle to re-qualify, like me, are ready to go the extra-mile to stay in a Hilton property, but now? |

SPG's promo is very attractive this quarter. Smart move! ^

This is insulting to business travelers with the tues & wed night exclusions. I'll be on the road every week in november and december, already moved my reservations to marriott.

That's bad, I have stay on Oct 21-27. Not only are heavy business travel days excluded, Nov/Dec have three holiday weeks in which business travel is already slow. Many of us have to cram a month's work into three weeks in both November and December. |

But how much is a breakfast at SPG? (Hilton G/D: free for up to two people). I'm trying the Sheraton Brussels, next Friday night: 84 euros. When I select the Double Starpoints or the 2000 Starpoints-rate it suddenly becomes 109 euros. W/o BF.
I just got onto the Sheraton Brussels website and tried to make a booking, I don't see anywhere a rate listed for Double Starpoints or 2000 Starpoints. The 84 Euro rate is a pre-paid rate and the 109 Euro rate is a fully Flexible rate. Either of these rates qualify for the Triple Starpoints promotion. |

Underwhelming indeed and will not generate much extra bookings, IMHO
|
San Diego doesnt look good
|
Why even offer this promo, Hilton just does not care. They should have just made it for every night including October. I'm cancelling all stays on principle even if costs me more.:td::td::td::td::td:
|
Better than nothing, I will be traveling next week to a Hampton. Thanks!
|
Clearly this promo is designed in mind that people will be stacking it with one of the miles promos. 1000 points is just a little bonus on top of good mileage accrual.
|
@ the Hilton from Oct 4th until Oct 19th. what a waste as there is no promo for oct. maybe i should switch to another chain after this weekend.
|
There is a promo, going on now till dec 31st. 9 000 bonus points per stay.

Agreed. Doubled with the VA mileage promo (and after converting VA miles to points), I'm looking at 46,000 bonus points from Nov and Dec. Certainly not the best quarter ever, but not the worst, either. Better than double points.
SPG in the meantime |

October Promotions
Am I reading this right...3rd quarter ends Sept 30th and 4th quarter starts Nov. 1st? Nothing for October?
|
Were you able to look at this thread?

Really not that bad as long as you only do 5 stays. Or switch to miles&more promo after VA is done... Or delta or emirates. |
