We rented a pair of ZHZ in Orlando last month. One had 18,000 miles and was pretty beat up, the other had about 20,000 miles, but was much better. Overall I would never own one, interior quality is pretty bad, but I like renting them whenever possible. We found a very good rate, but you can also get them for 3,000 pts for a 4 day weekend.

Whats this special good rate that you found? :-)
For anyone looking to book a Corvette convertible from Hertz I have been checking almost daily and they finally added some new Corvette convertibles to the system today for booking. In particular MCO now has availability for a "Corvette ZHZ convertible". I am guessing these are new to the fleet and likely 2009 models. I wonder if the new Corvette ZHZ convertible will be yellow and black like the 2008 ZHZ hardtops. |
I rented a ZHZ in SFO last month, the car made a lot of noises, maybe it's how the Corvette is build, maybe not, I dont know. The engine however .....! It's a great car!!

I rented one in February at ONTario and returned it at LAX a couple of days later. Car was in pretty good condition. A few scratches on the removable hard top but nothing else of significance. It was pretty tight after 11K rental miles. Much bettre than the older Corvettes that would be falling apart with 11K miles! I was offered the car for a $20/day upgrade ove rthe full size 4 door I had reserved.

How much do those usually go for?
While I booked a SUV from Alamo already for an upcoming 8 day trip (cancellation fee since prepaid :( ) I have an offer from Hertz to get the ZHZ for €650 (~$890) including underage fee, taxes and insurances (I am 24, #1 Club Gold in Germany). This is normally a lot more than I would ever consider (booked mid-size SUV for €250), but I am a gear head and prefer cars that I'd hardly get in Germany (so usually big SUVs :) ) Then again.... Considering Speed Limits and build quality (I do race my BMW on the Nürburgring back home, which I assume is a lot more fun), I wonder if it's worth it... Oh yeah, even more questions: - So do all ZHZs have a removable Hard Top? - Is the trunk big enough for two big suitcases (shopping! ;) ) |
i've rented ZHZ last week, it had ~20K on it and over 21K when i was done with it :p also needed oil change , new brakes and probably new tires as well :D
