Multiple rentals at the same time?
Anyone have problems renting more than one vehicle at a time in different places?
Want to rent a car at my home airport on a Thursday for s/o to use for a weekend trip - then I leave Friday for a trip and need a car too... Will hertz have a problem with this? |
I doubt it, as I've certainly had multiple reservations at the same time. But don't remember if I've booked them.
As long as the Credit Card is good, and the DL matches the reservation they are happy campers |
I've done it many times. I had three cars rented at the same time once (three different locations)

I have had 2 vehicles out at the same time from different locations and never had a problem.

Many times - no problem. I would often have a monthly rental out in Chicago and pick up weekend rentals in all sorts of cities. Never an issue anywhere.
And just in case someone later searches on this with a slightly different question, I've also had two cars out of the same location at the same time on a couple of occasions. Once from a HLE near my house and once at an airport location where we were traveling to a wedding. On all of the rentals, the car was in my name, but both of them had a CDP code that permitted my spouse to drive the cars. (I'm not convinced that they specifically checked that the CDP permitted the add'l driver, but from a liability perspective, I wouldn't have done it without knowing I was covered. We would have just rented the 2nd cars under her name.) |
No problem
Depending on how you look at it I've had as many as 4 concurrent (or very nearly concurrent) rentals running. :D
1. A week long rental at BWI for a convention. 2. An extended rental at home while my personal ride was in the shop for accident repair. 3. A daily rental in MCO within the week at BWI. 4. A same day rental in IAD, one way back to BWI to pick up car #1 at the end of trip #3. No body raised as much as an eyebrow. Lihue1k |
Hertz reservations told me that I can have as many rentals as I want from DIFFERENT locations. Maybe HLE's are different but they would not let me rent a car twice from the same location. (In my case, it was because I was renting a car for myself, and another for a colleague to drive under our corporate contract -- who didn't want to go to the airport to pick it up)

Thanks for the info. I just booked a weekly rental to drive to BHM where I have to work next week. I will fly from there out tomorrow and needed a weekend rental. Now I know I am good to go.

I've had two cars out from ORD at the same time. Reservations several hours apart though. Got upgraded on both of them.

2 Award Reservations under my name - possible?
Got a quick question & wanted to see if anyone's done this before...
I'm going on vacation with a group of people & we'll need 2 cars for the vacation. Is it possible for me to cash out 2 award vehicles in my name & add an additional driver on the second car to get them out of the lot? The return dates would be different too... Has anyone ever done this? Thanks! |
The only way it can work, the other rental would have to rented in your wife's name. That's as far as a certificate can be redeemed for, you or your wife.
|
Hmm...Not married, so that won't work & I'm traveling with a bunch of guys, so I can't even BS that one...
Anyone ever rent both cars in their own name & have the additional driver drive it out of the lot? |
I've rented up to four cars at the same time using award points. Picked 'em all up without any problems. The location was ready for me to fill out additional driver forms, but the other drivers were already automatically covered under my CDP.
I've also had simultaneous award reservations from different locations without difficulty. While certainly not the norm, I never got the impression that it was at all questionable or frowned upon. -m |
Thanks, merrickdb - I appreciate the response! :)
