US Hertz Fleet - What Makes/Models are Available? (2021 and onwards Thread)
US Hertz Fleet - What Makes/Models are Available? (2021 Thread)This is the new thread for the Hertz fleet from 2021 and onwards. It is a continuation of https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hert...20-thread.html Please see the wiki for details. Members with 90 days or more of membership and at least 90 posts may update the wiki, as needed. Questions regarding specific locations (eg, "I am Renting From XXX; What Might I Get?") may be moved by a moderator to specific/dedicated threads for that location. All major airport codes may be searched using FlyerTalk's search engine; otherwise, words in " " quotation marks will bypass the character limit filter. Thanks, Jason8612 Hertz Mod |
Not sure who put Impreza back in the new list, but this vehicle doesn’t exist in fleet. Also the forester is very questionable too;
I would suggest delete all but Dodge Journey in class K6; I’ve not seen any of those actually existed in K6 instead of L4 I actually spotted a Toyota Prius at an HLE 2 months ago, but not sure if this thing still exists in the fleet I’m not sure why I can’t see the edit button for the wiki, so if someone can add these it would be great: Compacts/B VW Beetle (YB) VW Golf Hyundai Veloster Full size/F Toyota Camry Q4 Ford Escape VW Tiguan L Hyundai Santa Fe B4 Toyota CH-R F4 Ford Edge L4 Kia Sorento H4 Infiniti QX50 |

It's not a bookable class but they do exist. |

I had rented 5+ times this year already and I can tell you that subarus do exist in the fleet.

Never saw a real one I know what a K6 is - the thing is do the 2WD version except dodge journey still exist in the fleet? Even hertz buy 2WD QX60 I doubt there is a 2WD pathfinder |
I guess it depends on the location, I haven't seen Audi in the east coast maybe I might have missed it.

Never seen a single one in 2WD form. I had seen everything else in 2WD form.

Happy New Year and sorry for being OT - are rental car prices inside US also that high currently like I am experiencing when booking from EU? Used to get a 4 week rental on a FFAR for something like 62 USD a day, but now rates have skyrocketed to above 80 USD a day???
Another question: Does Hertz actually carry Premium Pickup-Trucks? At Alamo I get SPAR (Medium Size) and PPAR (Premium). Hertz website gives me O6 (Frontier Crew Cab, "Small"), S (RAM 1500 "Medium"), S7 (F250 "Fullsize Elite"). |
Was at an HLE in Tulsa picking up a vehicle and while they were processing the paperwork, I noticed a Honda Civic in the parking lot with FL plates. Was in a hurry so I didn't get a chance to ask what the story was with the Civic.

Don't get fooled by Alamo/National types, premium pick up trucks just simply means full-size pick up trucks.
It doesn't mean that all of their F-150 or RAM 1500 come with higher trim levels. |

Yeah, both EHI (Enterprise/National/Alamo) and Hertz have essentially two categories: small pickups (Chevy Colorado, Nissan Frontier - SPAR at EHI, O6 at Hertz) and full-size pickups (Chevy Silverado, Dodge Ram, Ford F-150 - PPAR at EHI, S at Hertz).

T-Group trailering hitch
Good morning,
Does anyone happen to know if the T-group vehicles (large SUV) come equipped with a hitch? Thanks |

Do T, T4, L4 classes have 4wd? The older fleet list thread here had a bunch of "4wd/awd" marked in the list, while this 2021 list doesn't so I'm wondering. if Hertz has sold off most of their 4wd and pickups.

The smaller 7 passenger SUVs, like Acadia, Explorer, etc are mostly 2WD. Officially the cars seem to be split by drivetrain, but I don't think you can reserve one or the other? So e.g. if you reserve a 7-passenger SUV (L4) they will give you either a K6 (2WD) or an L4 (4WD). |

What have most people been getting for Q4/Q5 small SUV category?
|
Hi all! I have an H4/JFDR reservation for a surprisingly low rate in NYC in two weeks, so I'm wondering what to expect.
For one, what model am I likely to get? The Hertz site here says that it is going to be a Cadillac XT4, Range Rover Evoque, Mercedes-Benz GLC 300, Infiniti QX50, or Volvo XC60. I'm hoping for a XC60 or a GLC, but which one is the most likely? Secondly, it says here that the H4 category is all AWD (which the ACRISS code also shows), but I was wondering if every vehicle in this class is actually AWD or if it is not guaranteed. Could anyone provide any insight into this? Thanks for any advice! |

There are virtually no XC60 and XT4 in the fleet currently. I had been seeing brand new QX50 at different locations in the past 2 weeks so there might be a chance you will be getting one of them. All of the X3 and some of the GLC don't come with AWD |

Update:
Just spotted a sea of brand new 2021 Chevy Equinox at LAX and they are tagged as Q4. They are not L anymore.

Thanks! I have never driven (or been in) a Range Rover before, so I have no clue if it is a good car, but since I will 95% need AWD, I'll just ask for one when I get there. If they don't have one, do the QX50s have AWD? If yes, I'll probably take that.
Thanks for the insight! I believe the QX50 should have awd. My suggestion for you is you can call the 1800 number and have them pull up your reservation to put a note saying you need an AWD vehicle. |

I believe the QX50 should have awd. My suggestion for you is you can call the 1800 number and have them pull up your reservation to put a note saying you need an AWD vehicle. Also, if I do get an Evoque, would it be the new one (MY20+) or the older one? If it's the old one, I'd rather get a QX50. Also, when I get there, would it make any difference if I ask for a certain model or not? EDIT: I've also heard that some of the new Lincoln SUVs (Nautilus, I think) have been tricking into Hertz and Avis lots, what is the chance I'll get one of those? Would it have AWD? |

Alright, I might do that. Do you think that that would actually make any difference?

I had seen a mix of both old and new ones on the lot at recent as 2 weeks ago. I had not seen any lincoln suv in hertz fleet since the bankruptcy, but while renting at many different locations every week and seeing new cars every week recently, anything could happen in the near future. |

Usually if you are a gold member and they pre assign your car before you arrive it should make a difference, usually for specific model request they never assign me one though.

Hyundai Venue now in fleet, tagged as B4
Mazda CX9 now in fleet, tagged as L4 And they had finally fixed the Armada "misclass" issue, 2WD Armadas are now tagged as T2 |

While they're on it, why don't buy some palisade or telluride and let some old pathfinders and old explorers go. Based on my observation when they buy a hyundai/kia, it's the lowest trim (or second lowest) guaranteed, and now it's venue, arguably the most hideous car that you can find after that pontiac! How can they actually try to tell people with a Q4 reservation that hey this kicks/venue is what you booked!!!
Also looks like there're tons of new mazda coming. CX-5 and CX-30 are everywhere now From my observation, the kias that they buy are always some type of fleet only trim that does not exist in retail model and I never understand why bother to create a special fleet trim, and I believe that if they do get the palisade/telluride they will class them as T. I understand the logic from a business standpoint but as a customer I don't like that. |
Just wondering, has anyone seen any 2021 model year T/T6 vehicles or know if they’re coming? I know GM just redesigned their full-size SUV triplets and was just curious if they’re gonna get any new Suburbans or Yukon’s.

From what I was told instead of buying more compact and subcompact cars they can use the same money to buy all those tiny "suv" and to free upgrade people or force customers to take them as Q4s.

Right. I have never seen a Kia or Hyundai even with leather seats, let alone a higher trim, except for Hertz's Sedonas. The Telluride and Palisade have been out for quite awhile now and I haven't seen them in any rental fleets. It's strange because you'd think they'd want to put some nice cars into rental fleets to make a good impression on potential buyers.

I remember for a while back in late 2018 early 2019 hertz had a few sedona SXL model, I actually rented one and loved it. So speaking of new korean cars, I had just spotted the new model 2021 elantra at LAX, and of course they are base model again |
Yeah, i dont know much but i do know that getting a Telluride (and i think a Palisade) is not easy- they flew off the lots in many suburbs. Cant imagine any of them are going to be sold over to rental car companies anytime soon, when cheaper options abound (ie, the Sorento and the Santa Fe).
I just picked up an SUV from a Hertz city location- there was a brand new Nissan Murano sitting outside next to a not as new Mazda CX9. Both had HERTZ toll passes in the window but the employees looked out the window with me and said they weren't entirely sure they were Hertz vehicles, and sent me off with an older but still nice looking Ford Edge. Not a big deal but can't understand why, time and again, company after company, the people that work there don't jump at the opportunity to rent out the cars that are requested... |
So... I was going to rent from National, but prices skyrocketed for only a one-day rental, so I am debating Hertz or the local company I rent from. They are roughly the same price, but Hertz is a bit farther. I'd be looking at a Q4 (Nissan Rogue or similar). The only reason I'm thinking about Hertz is that they have Mazdas. So my question is, how likely would it be that I could get a Mazda on a Q4 reservation? What would you say is most likely? Ideally, of course, I would want a Mazda CX-30 or CX-5, but a Jeep Compass/Cherokee would be ok as well. I'd like to steer clear of the Nissans if possible.

In my experience, Mazda6's are fairly rare (and I have seen them treated as Premium cars in some instances), but CX-5s are everywhere in NY and Florida at all rental outfits. The CX-5 is the standard Intermediate SUV option (replacing the Escape) at Avis and Budget, I believe.
