Name missing from Board
 

Not sure what is going on but my last 3 rentals (with the exception being Houston where my name was on the board but there was no car at the spot) required me to get on line at Hertz Gold as each time my name was not on the board. I'm pretty good at confirming flight info, etc and each time my flight was on time. Each time was in a different city (SFO, MIA, DTW) and each time my name was missing.

Are others having the same problem? I have never been a "no-show" so not sure what is in my profile that causes the problem.

Unless your flight is very early or very late (and even then Hertz staff should monitor the situation if you have provided your flight information), your name and car should be ready. Are you sure your profile info is up to date with Hertz (new driver's license, credit card expiration dates)? Are you sure you are making confirmed #1Gold reservations? Look at your confirmations carefully: the confirmation number probably should end in GOLD.

Next time ask what the problem is once you get to the counter.

Also if you are booking through a third party site check the pick up time. A few months ago I discovered the hard way that my company's TA site was rounding pickup times to the next hour based on my flights arrival time. My flight that got in at 9:05AM was getting a rental car reservation for 10AM. So when I would get to the rental car garage at 9:20 and my name wouldn't be on the board.

I've been booking on Hertz's website for years now. Never was a problem until SFO and then 2 more times.

Sounds like I'm going thru a bad luck streak. I'll post again if it happens again and if the gold desk can't tell me why.
