LAX to BCN through FRA

I have a question and cannot seem to find the answer. We are flying on LH from LAX to BCN. We have a connecting flight in Frankfurt. Once we deplane in FRA will we need to go through security or passport control before heading to our connecting flight? I’m almost sure of passport control but not security. We have a two hour layover if our first flight arrives on time.

Thanks!

Passport control yes as FRA is where you enter Schengen.

LAX flights tend to land at Z gates which is no extra security screening.

If there is a change to landing gates there may be screening.

There are 2 ways from the Z gates to the A gates. One route may be quicker than the other route, despite a security check.

Please refer to this thread in the Lufthansa forum, which has extensive information on how and where to connect in FRA.

Some general comments:
1. Two hours of connection time should be more than enough in FRA.
2. Just follow the signs in FRA. They will not lead you astray
