Still no e-mail resulting from my submiitting the forms on 30th March - see post #192

Is this normal or should I just assume I've been awarded and just use the e-gates on my next arrival in July?

When I registered for it at FRA about 6 months ago, I was able to use e-gates with the EasyPass logo about an hour later, so you should be fine in July.

Was at DUS today around 15h. My flight was the only one at this time.

Went to kiosk and captured photo and fingerprints. It then directed me to EasyPass.

But easypass gate rejected me. I was also registered with RTP last June so should still be valid.

Officer stamped me in. Will try to register with easypass again. This hasn’t work last three attempts.

I wonder if it would have worked if you didn’t go to the kiosk first. That latest update on the RTP website seems to indicate that the information the kiosk captures isn’t needed if you are RTP registered.

Is there an email address for EasyPass/BundesPolizei? I know in my form the officer who did it put my email address in wrong, so I wanted to email to try to have it corrected?

EES requires biometrics for all foreigners. I wouldn't expect that requirement to be waived because of being enrolled in RTP as biometrics isn't captured during RTP enrollment nor do easypass egates capture fingerprints.

FYI

As mentioned a couple of posts back, I wasn't able to use EasyPASS successfully at DUS last week. I tried to re-register at DUS but despite website indicating hours end at 15h, they actually close at 14h (Monday-Friday).

Went to CGN instead since it is 24h but apparently while they accept EasyPASS-RTP applications 24h, they don't actually process the paperwork "while you wait." They processed my paperwork and emailed me a confirmation 3 business days later.

EES vs Easypass RTP

Advice please
I hold a UK passport and already registered on EES a couple of months ago.
Is there a benefit of trying to get Easypass or not since passing through MUC and FRA in a few weeks and could register with the police for Easypass but just seeing if it is worth it?
Still can’t quite comprehend the process since always been pushed for manual passport control with stamping at FRA and EES manual stamping at MUC so far!!!
Thank you for any advice.

I plan on visiting EU, via Germany once or twice a year and I think it helps to have an easier entry for connections.

I went to the enrollment center at FRA airport and as soon as I asked, the male officer made sour faces and started mumbling (or saying something in German). There was a pause, then a female colleague came in. The male officer asked how frequently I would visit and he said it is not worth my time to apply. He looked at his female colleague and the both made faces and sneered.

He came up to me and said this was not worth my time but he would do me a favor if I insist on enrolling.

At that point, I was quite uncomfortable with an unwilling officer enrolling me, so I just turned my back and left.

EES basically means you use a kiosk to take your photo and finger prints and then join a queue to see a border control officer who will scan and stamp your passport (and sometimes do the photo and finfer printes again).

At some point the stamping is supposed to end but not the photo etc and the queueing up.

EES doesn't give you any special priviledges to skip the line and you still have to use the kiosks

I registered for easy pass so I could use the the e-gates so I don't have to use the non EU-passports tensa barrier maze and queue up behind the people who can't or didn't use the kiosks first.

Thank you for the clarification. Have you managed to use the e-gates with Easypass at either FRA or MUC recently? If so, was it straight forward since first time I had to register for EES at MUC, the queue after was 30 mins long to get the passport stamped and very nearly missed my connecting flight!!! So if the e-gates were nice and quick, will definitely apply, even with the 1 year limit at the moment since have at least about 10 connecting flights this year alone through FRA or MUC.
Thank you for your advice

Dselvan afraid I can’t answer that as I’ve yet to arrive into a German airport since I applied for easy pass at the end of March.

my next entry isn’t until July and that’s at BER.
