My superstition at the craps table is that I will not look at the dice when thrown to the other end of the table. I will keep my eyes down at the bets and wait for the call.

My craps superstitions are: No hands anywhere in the tub while I'm shooting. Putting your hands in the tub will be construed by me as consent to my throwing the dice directly at your knuckles.

I hate Ma and Pa Kettle-type spectators.

It's been a few years... but, I used to sometimes have a small audience of Ma and Pa's outside the Stardust baccarat room, when I was playing big baccarat. They always seemed so baffled.... of course, I would ALWAYS take advantage of their naivety at every chance possible...

Ma and Pa Kettle - "Wow... that sure does look like an interesting card game - is that back-a-rack?"

baccarat_king - "Of yes, but it is VERY VERY complicated... it would take me forever to explain the intricate strategies to you... in addition, you need to have a formal understanding of harnessing the CHI energy forces @ the table" :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I just came back from March Madness in Vegas. It was very busy (compared to the 2 other times I went this year) with tons of people on the street.

Some of my superstitions in craps are:

- Change of dealer (Turn off on next roll)

- Bounces off the table (Turn off until he hits a point, a lot of times it 7's out on the second roll)

- Some idiot changes money in the middle of a hot roll (the worst are the people who change money and DON'T even bet)

- Some idiot walks to up to a quarter table and bets $5 or $10 on field (Turn off IMMEDIATELY)

- Change tables if I see don't bettors (I enjoy knocking them off (knocked a whale at MGM for 600k for betting against me a couple of years ago which I thoroughly enjoyed) but its not worth the bad vibes they emit)

- Players betting late on rolls (Change tables)

- Players hanging their hands over the railing and potentially making contact with dice (request dealer to tell him to get his hands up)

- Players/Dealers/Stickman's stick making contact with dice is usually a 7 (nothing you can do about it)

What I look for in a table

- $25 and up tables because the players are more knowledgable (but, if the minimum everywhere is $25, you'll get those "bad" players once in a while)

- Women rollers who have never rolled before (GOLDMINE!)

- People who set the dice and throws with the same rythym (spelling?) and motion (there's craps groups out there and I've been lucky to run into one and they do very well)

- CHEERING table or a table with a good vide (fun players and fun dealers). If the dealers and players look pissed off, I stay away.

I feel the vibe dictates how the rolls go for that table. If everyone is fun and happy, it usually is a good thing.

Obviously, this is just selective memory. The dice does not have a pattern and does not have a memory. So, everytime it 7's out, I always think of an excuse of why it 7'd out or something/someone to blame.

Overall, I know I've lost more than I won. But, boy does it feel good when a roller rolls for 30min-1hr long and you make thousands. It's all fun and entertainment and you try to remember the big wins. =)

Vegas was crazy this past weekend wasn't it? Probably the busiest I've seen it in a long while. It wasn't this busy even last march madness.

that's an automatic for me-all my bets go off but only for the first "re-roll"

I am not at all superstitious, but when gaming I absolutely am. I do have my lucky lid for use when I am getting pummelled.
Craps:
I always set my dice before rolling. I also have ritual when choosing my dice to throw. If a roller draws my ire for any reason, I'll either leave or bet don't come.
BJ:
Blackjack I prefer to play alone. I will leave immediately if a card gets bent, or the dealer makes a comment about the smoke. I also refuse to play auto shufflers.

I am not a slots player but if I should be walking by a slot and my hand starts itching, I play that machine immediately.

Don't you people know it's bad luck to be superstitious?

BudgetJetsetter Apr 5, 2009 2:43 am

One of my superstitutions is I think it's bad luck when people ask exactly how much you're up or down while you're playing. I've had countless friends and family constantly pester me.

I never start with more than $100. I was up about $500 a few weeks ago at NYNY with some girls that were visiting from out of town. They wanted to drink and my friend & I wanted to play. So, we left them at the bar & after about an hour, one of the girls comes up to me during an extremely hot roll & rubs up against me & asks me how much I'm up. Boom - just like that I hit a 7 & lose about 150 that's on the table - all presses from previous rolls. After that, the dealer next to me actually jokingly (but seriously) asked her what the hell her problem was and to never ask a man how much he's up (she was wasted) and it was a pretty amusing interaction between the two after that.

On a recent trip to AC a girl riding in the same car asked me "How much do you plan to win tonight?"... I got annoyed at that point. Who asks questions like that?

My man came is craps: My superstition is if a guy is rolling good then all of the sudden his wife or girlfriend comes and ask him how much is he winning while he's shooting, I get all the bets I am allowed to take down and bet hop sevens for the next two rolls....always craps out within two rolls when that happen! Also never take $50 bills into a casino! Bad luck for sure

Craps Fire Bet in AC?

Hi all,

Figured I'd open this thread back up to ask a question...

Since alot of posts in here are about craps....can you make a fire bet in AC?

I usually play craps at Borgata...going there this coming weekend actually. ^

I recently read about the fire bet and wanted to know if it's allowed there.

Thanks, D E K E R
