why no mobile app?
Why doesn't Frontier have a mobile app? Every other airline seems to have one especially Southwest and United.

Mostly comes down to, it hasn't been a priority since they've been massively overhauling their full website, and their software team can only do so much at one time. |

We are currently in the process of developing a mobile compatible site that should be implemented soon. |

Massively overhauling the website? I must have missed something, Mike.

They went from a Java powered website to ASP.Net. Even though some of the content didn't change, every single page was touched. Hopefully they did it right so enhancements going forward are easier.
In its present incarnation, sometimes you can complete a booking, other times, you have to pick up the phone. |
I would be happy if they manage to enhance their web site, e.g. change a seat assignment. As long as they have a backlog of things to do on their web site they should really focus on it. I can worst case open their web site on my iphone if needed but the lack of functionality is annoying.

+1 on changing seat assignments...almost one year after this post. I figure by 2025 or so F9 will figure out this part of the website, which almost every other airline has had for years.

Next on the list: mobile boarding passes.
Actually, that'll take awhile. A long while. But with today's high resolution phone screens you could probably just display the same PDF417 code that's printed on boarding passes, and you wouldn't need to mess with the at-gate scanners any. |
