New COO

Another new Frontier senior management hire. I'd love to see the contracts of these folks. They must be pretty special to get someone to leave their present well paid job for a company that is about to be sold... ahem, spun off.

I'm sure they have a pretty nice stake in the sale going well. Shares, bonuses, etc... I'm sure it wasn't too hard to convince them, especially the idea that the new partner/owner should bring an influx of cash to play with. Seems like a pretty exciting time to be with the company.

I don't know too many people who are willing to take a job betting on the come. More likely, the deal is sealed with a very rewarding parachute, should it become necessary to use.

C-level executives of publicly traded companies aren't normal people though. Part of it is about the chase, the chance at higher than expected earnings and an even bigger potential windfall than he has now. But I'm sure he is well compensated no matter the outcome.

You may be unfamiliar with Delta's plans for Comair. They couldn't give it away, and now it's pretty much Dead Man Flying. Delta's been dumping 50-seat RJs by the dozens, and Comair's fleet of 'other' aircraft numbers <30.
