If one subscribes to the theory that CO is firmly in charge at UA, you'd be more likely to see a bus replace Express on MKE-ORD-MKE. See ABE-EWR for an example ;)

The funny thing is that I've had nothing but good experience with them on any of the new CO hub CR7 routes, the MKE-DEN, LAX to any of the various small SoCal airports, etc. Admittedly I fly MKE-ORD a lot more than many other routes but it's still amazing that almost 100% of the time something goes wrong with the flight.

What's sad is that if they do put a bus on this route, it will likely be faster on average than the flight they are currently running. UA's MKE-ORD is invariably:
1) late inbound from ORD 2) oversold 3) delayed back to ORD 4) missing a flight crew I do this route at least monthly (three times in the last 4 weeks) and all three times, one of the above four cases applied. A bus would be an upgrade in terms of space as well. :) In the winter I usually fly out of GRB because the cancellations seem to be much less, even when the weather is cruddy. Unless there is a blizzard the flight seems to go out. Not sure if this is because it is XJet flying it or because it is on an ERJ instead of a CRJ. |

I think your observation of the 9:50 flight being generally on time might indicate you're more lucky on the inbound than your noted first flight of the day being delayed. ^ |
Trying (in vain) to catch up on threads, and I think that someplace in here someone asked what sorts of cuts were being seen outside of Milwaukee this fall.
At Denver, TPA, RSW, and MSY are being cut for the fall season, and GRB is ending earlier than last year. LGB is also a year-over-year reduction, but of course that ended back in April. PHF is ending this fall, although there's word it is planned to return in spring, and A few markets have lost a frequency year-over-year at Denver, including SAN and SBA, too. At Kansas City, the cuts are that the 2nd BOS and LAX flights which were first loaded to continue onward, are now ending befor Labor Day. CMH is a year-over-year reduction, too (ended in May) but that has been offset by SAT and 2x MSP, of course. |
