Seat maps showing Stretch seats and pricing
The Frontier site is now showing Stretch seats in gold on the seatmaps, and it also indicates the upgrade fee. The fee is different if you purchase an economy ticket versus a classic ticket.
Nice to see incremental improvements like this on the website. People eligible for Stretch can now clearly see this, and others can get an idea of what the upgrade fee will be. |
With the new info we can see what the upgrade fees are. In most cases...not all...the fee to upgrade from Class is $10 less than the cost to upgrade from Economy.
The highest upgrades I see in the whole system (Economy / Classic) $50 / $40 MKE-LAS MKE-SAN MKE-PHX DEN-ANC $50 / $30 DEN-DCA $40 / $30 MKE-SEA DEN-ATL DEN-LGA $30 / $20 MKE-LGA MKE-BOS MKE-RSW MKE-FLL MCI-BOS MCI-DCA MCI-LGA MCI-LAX DEN-PHF DEN-CAK DEN-SAN $25 / $15 MKE-DCA DEN-PHL DEN-SNA DEN-PDX DEN-PHX DEN-SFO DEN-GRB DEN-SFO DEN-MSY $20 / $10 MKE-DFW MKE-SAT DEN-LAX DEN-MDW DEN-MKE DEN-MCI MCI-SFO MCI-MSP $15 / $5 MCI-MKE MCI-MSY DEN-ABQ DEN-SLC The routes with the highest upgrade fees tend to match the markets where Midwest sold the most Signature upgrades. |

The routes with the highest upgrade fees tend to match the markets where Midwest sold the most Signature upgrades. When looking at seat maps for routes that trend more toward leisure travel, the Economy seats tend to fill first. Of course, some bookings are made through other entities, i.e. Travelocity, Expedia, where the customer is not given the option of purchasing anything other than Economy. That customer then later complains about having to pay bag fees. |
A very helpful addition.
Now, a pasenger is able to determine the cost to upgrade befiore proceeding to OLCI. |
It would be a little clearer if the legend pertaining to STRETCH seating were tagged as available STRETCH for open STRETCH seats (gold-colored), and not merely STRETCH.
|
Add to the list:
From-To C+/C- DEN-SAT 10/20 DEN-AUS 10/25 Agreed on the "available" vs. no label deal. They do show when a seat is taken though. |
Minor flub...$ sign is not on same line as dollar amount in the legend.
STRETCH Seating $ 30.00 |

Gold appears to have changed to green.
Pricing disappeared from Airbus flights. |

Pricing disappeared from Airbus flights. Perhaps the gold was too reminiscent of YX. |
Now available at booking
I don't know when this occurred, however, STRETCH can now be purchased at time of booking. Even from Economy.
A nice addition that was long overdue. |
