My First Cookie
 

I finally had my first (and second) Frontier cookie today on MSP-DEN. Last week's DEN-MDW didn't have any, so maybe the cookie has finally arrived to the Frontier network.

After hearing about the Midwest cookies for years, but never having one, I must say the Frontier cookie, although good, was a bit of let down. I don't know why, but I was thinking they were going to serve them warm. They came out in a big, white, non-descript box, with no branding and were served at room temperature. The flight attendants gave 2 cookies per passenger which was very nice.

A surprise to me was how many folks declined the cookies. I don't think I could ever pass up a free cookie. :)

No, it was an A319.

Spoke with a former YX FA today MCO-MKE and she said the cookies were supposed to be warm on all F9 flights as of 8/1 but F9 had problems getting the warmers (ovens?) installed so they will be cold for a while yet. She said some passengers are really disappointed when they are not warm (she said MKE people especially). Seemed to be a well catered flight with plenty of BOB for all.

The other big deal about warm cookies is the smell. That home sweet home smell and sensation makes you smile even if you don't eat the cookie.

No warm cookies. What an abomination! Yes, us MKE folks love our warm cookies and (most of us) would be far from happy if they were not warm.

If they are not going to serve them warm, they shouldn't serve them at all.

We have expectations from the old days.

I flew MKE-BNA-MKE over the last couple of days and didnt mind getting the firm (non-warmed) cookie at all on the E145...In some senses it is easier to eat, because of the quality they are loaded up with the chocolate chips and when they are served cold/room temperature you dont get the chocolate all over your fingers...Along with this, they dont fall apart when they served "firm".

I am a Midwest loyalist as much as the next guy, but am not going to be upset over the fact that ovens have not been loaded onto the entire Frontier fleet yet.

My one piece of feedback is to get more variety of drinks onto the E145's...No Mountain Dew or Amp?? I realize I havent been on the big metal for about 4 months, so I believe these 2 beverages are still available on the A319s and E90s, why cant they get a couple onto the E145? I am not asking for a full tray in the beverage cart, just a couple.

I think the problem is that there were no warming trays on that aircraft. So I believe when an aircraft gets their warming trays they will be able "bake" the cookies, if there is an oven.

I just found out that cookies are only servied on flights departing after 10:30 AM. Bummer.

But the messiness is part of the fun! :)

At Miller Park, the cookies are kept warm in a case, with an incandescent light bulb providing the heat.

Not real sophisticated, but it works. It reminds me of the EASY-BAKE oven.

Once again, this takes us back to fleet wide uniformity.

Amenities offered on a 319, should be no different than the offerings on an E190.

I dont think there is any argument with uniformity, but you have to give them time...Are Delta and Northwest done with their integration? Everything I have seen presented by the new Frontier is that this is what they are working towards.

Got my first cookies today too on a Frontier A318. Cold but everybody that wanted got 2. If they keep doing it I will gain 5 pounds this year.
