Partnership ends with AirTran

Given what's gone on in MKE, this should surprise no one.

It will be most interesting to hear the FF program changes discussed at tomorrow's AirTran annual meeting. Can't wait for the next move!

Next Steps

You're right, I think many saw this coming.

Since the AirTran partnership is going to end in two months, it sure would be nice if Frontier made a big, splashy announcement of their new program at that time, rather than wait until the fall. I continue to hold out hope that Frontier joins a major alliance such as oneworld.

I like this remark from the article.

The real losers in this are Frontiers frequent fliers, AirTran spokesman Christopher White said in an interview. A wide swath of the East Coast will no longer be available to them.

Very sad to hear that this is happening, but I'm not very surprised..

I hear you loud and clear FriendlySkies. I've got my fingers crossed for something special. Hope I'm not disappointed.

Most of the east coast destinations that Frontier FFs are "losing" are smaller markets. The Midwest Airlines routes gained by Frontier in the merger give Frontier FFs plenty of access to the bigger East coast markets.

As I fly to China next week on the Star Alliance, I can tell you that if Frontier was a part of OneWorld, I would switch my flying to them immediately. I'd have no problem flying Cathay.
