and also, don't forget to eat at one of the Bouchons, they are possibly the best in the world...
p.s if arriving by train, get off at Perrache and not Part-Dieu, it's a pretty walk.

MY GF and I never made it to Lyon this spring; however, we are going this weekend. We ended up booking a room at RadissonSAS (55 Eur/night). Does anybody know how to reach the hotel from the airport with public transport? Is it safe at 9 pm Friday night? On the hotel's homepage it says that it is close to the TGF station, but is this the same station as trains (or buses) from the airport use?

Is it a Avis office at the TGF station, or other places nearby the hotel? We will rent a car and go to Avignon Sun-Mon.

The RadissonSAS is near the gare Part Dieu. There is a bus from LYS that will take you there.

You can pick up a car from Avis at LYS or at the gare Part Dieu.

From the bus stop (airport bus at Part Dieu) you can enter the shopping centre across the street (slightly to the right). Inside, go up one floor but keep walking in the same direction. At the other end, once you leave the mall, you’re at the base of the tower with the SAS hotel.

At 9pm it should be safe. (Some of the shops are open until 10pm.) But I wouldn’t walk this (with luggage) at midnight or later.
