Paris is one of the more costly destinations from the US, and London is one of the less costly ones. Get to London then buy separate onward travel. Paris and Brussels are both on Eurostar, so that would be a good place to start.

I like the very inexpensive Hotel van Onna in Amsterdam. It's clean, very friendly, but plain (resin table next to the bed!). But I only paid about US$ 32 per night. And you'll love Loek van Onna, the owner.
This is a non-smoking hotel. And it doesn;t stink of mold or must like many other Amsterdam hotels do. I walk there from Centraal Rail station in about 12 minutes. there is also a tram that goes close to the hotel. Oh, yes, no phones in the rooms and no credit card acceptance. And no elevator. Great breakfast is included, of course. I even got breakfast on arrival since no room was ready early on a Sunday morning. But I still love the place! see the Hotel van Onna section of http://www.walp.dds.nl/accommodation...mmodation.html or call Loek at +31 20 626-58-01. |
