iPhone Paris map apps

What iPhone apps for Paris and its Metro are recommended? Several in the App Store, but I don't want to download one with in-app purchases if not needed.

I'm going to move this to the France forum, where you are likely to get more suggestions than here in the Travel Tools forum.

Try the "Trip Advisor" app. They used to have a specific app for city guides but they merged it into the same thing.

You might have to sign in but you can download maps to use offline - I have used it before and I like it. Also, it's free!

For the Metro, the RATP app is pretty nice (map itself works offline but the schedule and trip planner require data connection).

For the map, do you want an offline or online one?

You can try Citymapper, which gives you public transport schedules for different cities among them Paris

Agree with RATP for the Metro.

Here is good, and much recommended, for offline maps. Download the Paris region before you leave.

I have an app that's just called Metro that works offline including the trip planner. I think it costs a couple bucks on the app store. The one thing it needs online access for is real-time news about each line, which can be super valuable when there are service problems.

Personally I just use the Google Maps app. It has improved a lot. I'm always online in Paris though.

The Metro Paris Subway app by Presselite. It also has RER and bus. You can use it without data, including routing. With data, it also sends you advisories on delays and shutdowns. I've used it for several years.

It's the one that looks like this in the App Store:

Yep, that's exactly the one I posted above just above. Thanks for looking up the publisher name. I have always just known it as Metro.

I wasn't sure because it does provide Metro alerts of service delays in real time. The app is also available in English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese. It's $0.99.

The Android version is free, but it has a poor rating.

Not sure why it has a bad rating, unless the Android version sucks for some reason. Like ILuvParis and I said, we've been using it for years and it's great. In fact I just used it here today in Paris.
