Restaurants in Paris

Staying at Park Hyatt Venodome - of course on points in a few weeks...looking for restaurant recommendations in Paris...

This is not the best forum for that. There is a very active thread on PHV in the Hyatt Gold Passport forum, and you might try Destinations also. It might also help to indicate what kinds of restaurants you're looking for! There's a pizza place if you walk up toward Opera and turn right at the first corner ;). And I can tell you where the Pizza Hut is.

Who would eat Pizza Hut in Paris?

But can you tell me where the bathroom is in the parking garage by Notre Dame? I must have walked every inch of that structure, finally fending up at Subway across the street.

Ill be staying there starting the 21st of Feb for 3 nights. We are hitting some of our old spots we like. Look in the destinations section.

I think that was his point - without you giving ANY indication of preferred cuisine and price range, it is difficult to make recommendations.

Thread transferred from MilesBuzz! to France forum because the discussion will be about dining rather than miles or points. Bon appetit!

I stayed in the 7th and enjoyed several local restaurants, as noted in this post from another thread.

Sud Ouest closed and something else opened in its place.

And Constance is always my back up resto.

The best restaurant food in Paris these days is coming out of the more-casual bistros. Some of the best young chefs are doing this. The trend is getting away from the more formalized dining spots.

Some fabulous bistros from my last visit with a minimum of tourist traffic and wonderful, creative dishes.

Metropolitain, 4th
Le Taxi Jaune, 3rd
Christophe, 5th
Frenchie, 2nd.
Monjul, 4th.

You sure Au Petit Sud Ouest closed? There have been some really recent reviews on TA.

Cafe Constant is a good though small venue.

Les Papilles is one I tried to get to didn't and would also recommend it.

We're talking about two different Suds here. Sud or Sud Ouest (I think it may have been Sud 7eme at one point) was on rue de Grenelle near rue Cler and had decent Mediteranean food. It was not fine dining but they did pretty well at what they offered. This place closed a year or two ago (as did its sister location near La Muette in the 16th), and I know nothing about the restaurant that opened in the Grenelle space.

Au Petit Sud Ouest is nearby, located on Avenue de la Bourdonnais. It serves traditional French southwest cuisine such as fois gras and other goose and duck products. I haven't been there in a long time but I think they are still open.

Yes, I thought there might be a name mix up as I was meaning Au Petit Sud Ouest which is as you'd described and I fully enjoyed. ^

Au Petit Sud Ouest is indeed open.

7ème Sud on rue de Grenelle closed a year or so ago and was replaced by Alain Milliat.
