Points purchased from Finnair Store still hasn't posted HELP
 
Purchased Finnair Plus points worth $3,000 five days ago just in time with the running miles bonus, and up 'til now I have not been able to receive my points even after being issued a receipt by Points.com. I've done everything from an email, to an international phone call to their support centers for both Points.com and Finnair but no one is able to help/completely not responsive at all. I'm worried they might not be able to sort this out in time to make it within the promo period. Any resolutions?

I feel you, but Finnair is going to make this right to you if it´s simply a technical glitch. Not a single person of authority is working at Finnair at the moment. Wait until tommorow (last day of promo) and it will get sorted. Do not lose your sleep over this. Your money isn´t gone.

Managed to reach their hotline just now. The agent (who sounded so disengaged) told me that she couldn't see any of my purchase on their back end and cannot do anything about it. Wasn't even apologetic. She said there weren't any transaction forwarded to them when I clearly was already debited and a receipt was issued

I didn't. Still dont have any response nor the points on my account. Trying to reach out to them again but the hotline is busy. Getting really worried here.

Why is everyone in such a rush to get them? If you paid for them, they will post.

From my understanding the tier points follow your tracking period and not the calendar year. So you can always do the transfer from award points to tier points after the new year and still get status. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Not quite sure if you can convert award points into tier points since 01 January 2022.
I think the deadline to get the higher possible status is within this 2021. But maybe I'm wrong.

I believe the promotion is purely the bonus 200K award points and the 100k tier points.

Converting award points to tier points isn’t a promo. It’s something you can do at any time.

I just bought what my credit card could afford. I recived the confirmation email of Finnair. But neither the base points and the bonus points has been added to my account so far.
The message after the buying has a legend that says it could take even a few days.

Same for me....purchased the full 200k on 22nd December and still no points showing. Have the receipt from points.com which came through a few minutes after purchasing. I have contacted AY+ several times but still no resolution. I'm chasing every day now as I need to make an award booking for a few weeks time before the availability disappears. Very frustrating.

Not sure if the issue is with new accounts as I signed-up and immediately bought points - was that the same for you Sonny84 ?

Helsinki Flyer was your account a new one when you bought points or have you had it for some time? I wonder if this is the issue with ppl buying on new accounts. I didn't actually get my "Welcome to Finnair Plus" email until Dec 25th, 3 days after the points purchase so maybe there is the problem between accounts being fully setup and points being automaticaly credited.

Still have not received my points/tier. I have a friend who literally bought hers just last night and got it after 3 minutes.

Chasing everyday because I'm worried they might not honor the transaction, sent them the automated email they sent acknowledging payment. Also managed to get thru their support line, who was unhelpful, and told me to wait until January 3 when Points.com would be available to respond with my concern.

Pretty hopeless at this point and not expecting it anymore.

They will appear, rest assured - as long as Your credit card has not been declined. That happened to my MC but not to my VISA.

I had an old account an used a MC. Posted in seconds. Trust me, this issue will get sorted. It´s a legit company that is flying hundreds of flights a day.

I think the "confirmation from Finnair" that people are referring to above is actually from points.com (sender has domain points-mail.com and the mail contains every detail of the purchase and ends with a OW logo and a copyright Finnair 2013 (!) ;)

Of course they will honour it. Just because a shady blogger gave you the tip, it doesn't mean it is a dirty trick to get the points and status.

I seem to be having exactly the same issue. No points posted after purchase, only got the receipt from the middle-man (points.com).

Apparently no use to call AY, so will just wait it out. If I don’t see the points in a week or so I guess it will be chargeback time.

Contacted AY and got an email response hinting that there might be a problem with my AmEx not accepting the charge. This is total bull#### as I can see the charge on my statement, and I already got a receipt from Points.com.

After the email, I called them, and a friendly customer service attendant told me that an insane amount of folks has been buying points and in most cases, the system has worked flawlessly, but for a few customers, the points haven't been credited as they should -- something to do with manual review or IT problems.

Go figure.

Same case. It was charged to my card and already received a receipt from them.

What was the resolution offered?

It took 5 days for my points to post. I spoke with customer service and they wrote to the backoffice team to highlight that the points had not credited. I provided the transaction number from points.com for the rep to quote. The rep said there was nobody to deal with the request 25-26th Dec and someone would pick it up on 27th....which they did as the points updated very late yesterday. Suggest asking customer service to raise the issue with the back office team and hopefully the points will post more quickly.

She told me that she would check up on my account tomorrow morning, and if the points haven't been credited by then, she will escalate the issue further.

which customer service # did you call? The regular line, or the finnair plus line?

Last year this got me into an amusing conversation, as the CS representative thought I had missed the promotion and told me I had been too late (the points now appear as a transaction on 28.12 according to the day they posted and not according to the day the transaction was completed). Quite a bother.

Same here, bought 30 minutes before the deadline and got an hour ago the purchased points and the bonus points but not the tier points although I gifted points to a Junior account but nothing in the T&C exclude gifting and junior accounts from the promo.
