I used certificates for dining in Lake Louise and at the Jasper Park Lodge last weekend. All were accepted at $25.

The JPL certificates posted as redeemed in my account the next day. The Lake Louise ones have not posted yet. Interestingly, the JPL did not reflect that a suite upgrade was redeemed nor has my stay and nights been reflected on my account yet.

Sorry to bump up such an old thread, but doesn't make sense to start up a new one given that these certs are going away. I went to the spa at the Fairmont Singapore this morning, and I was kind of grumbling because they refuse to give me the 10% Plat discount on services when I'm paying with certs plus they typically give me a terrible exchange rate. I felt I could live with one or the other, but not both.

Well, for once they gave me a fair rate! They converted my US$25 certs to S$33.86. Per my XE app, the correct rate should have been S$33.90. That's good enough for me!

Not sure if it was due to my grumbling or if it's the new Accor policy. Seems unlikely to be the latter since the certs will all be dead in 1.5 months.

Good to hear about the good FX rate. As for the 10% discount or using certs, that doesn't make any sense. But I've always just charged the spa services to my room (with discount, of course), and then apply the certs to the folio upon checkout, and the Willow Stream charges are reduced on the bill accordingly. I'd never heard of your particular problem before, but charging to the room and applying certs later should solve it.

Well, on this particular trip, I'm staying at the Ritz Carlton (on a $17/night promo fare ) plus the Fairmont Singapore is undergoing renovations. There are no suites available and the lounge is closed.
