Canadian Points University - Toronto - October 22nd

Canadian Points University Conference #PointsuYYZ - Sat, October 22,

What is it?

Canadian Points University is the first all Canadian conference series created by and for travel enthusiasts to come together and learn how to use their miles and points to maximize flights, hotel stays and trips. Presentations are exclusively focused on content for a Canadian audience

What's in it for me?

CPU offers the ability to network with fellow engaged and passionate travel addicts as well as a core group of Canadian Travel Bloggers

What is next?

After a successful launch event in Vancouver in January 2016, CPU is returning for an event in Toronto in October. Details will go up on flyertalk and http://www.pointsu.ca as it becomes available.

Here are a few recaps from the bloggers:
Pointshogger (http://pointshogger.boardingarea.com...niversity-yvr/), A Whistle And a Light (A http://www.awhistleandalight.com/blo...university-yvr) and MilesOpedia (http://milesopedia.com/category/informations/evenements).

Here's an example of some of the topics from the Vancouver event:
Primer on the Canadian credit card landscape
Getting US credit cards as a Canadian
Navigating the world of status matching for airlines and hotels
Hotel promotions for Canadians
Beyond Aeroplan: Maximizing your AMEX Membership Rewards transfers
Collecting and maximizing value from RBC Avion Rewards
Advanced techniques for booking economy and premium fares for Canadians

Most importantly - in spirit this is meant to be a community event and we want it to be created by Canadians and for Canadians. As such we’d like to get your feedback on what content you would like to see at the event. The more feedback the better!

We hope to see you there!

Will you be offering the option of using PayPal to purchase tickets?
Also when do you anticipate posting the schedule/workshop info?

At this moment we only accept cc through the website. If you wish to paypal, plz PM me.
We have posted the majority of the sessions, but might expand further should there be a demand from the fellow travel enthusiasts.

What would you like to lean?

The schedule is now live and included at the top of this thread.
Did you end up getting a ticket?

As we are getting closer to the conference... just 30 days to go :) this could be a great place to discuss and coordinate travel plans whether you are flying in or driving. people are travelling from all over Canada, so let's get the party started in lounges enroute to PointsuYYZ.

HerpaYvr Sep 22, 2016 8:53 am

I will be attending the meet & greet at the Fairmont the evening of the 21st.

Right now I am Planning to take the TTC (I have two tokens left over from FanExpo :D) as I am staying at the Airport Hilton unless anyone has a ride as I fly in at 6PM Friday night!

I have rented a car for the seminar the following day and will be returning to YYZ after the seminar to catch a flight if anyone else needs a ride back to the airport?

allanyong Sep 23, 2016 5:41 am

not sure if it is a proper place to share something: I accidentally got two additional Sheraton downtown centre rooms from Friday - Sun at 130 per night plus tax.

I will cancel it on Oct 18 if no one needs it:)

This is the best place! Somebody should jump on it.

Also, Sheraton is offering a room block at $239 until Sep 30th. Here is the booking link - https://www.starwoodmeeting.com/Book/CJ18AC

Actually, the rooms are bookable after Sep 30, but just subject to availability.

SPG has been awesome. They are hosting the reception on Sat night and giving away 25,000 and 10,000 Starpoint certificates! ^

Hi yyznomad - what price are you getting? Regular ticket prices are $159 so you should be seeing $119...

I just checked and the code still seems to be active
