It certainly didn't spell out that you would not consider accepting payment from them:

I'm curious to know how much they offered to pay Seth, too!

It would give us a ballpark idea of how much the bloggers who took their offer are willing to sell a blog article for.

I don't want to partner with them. I already work with another company (CIBT), and feel zero need to rep a visa & passport service. I recommend CIBT to my clients and that's that.

As I said earlier, I was just curious as to what they paid because, well, I'm curious.

I'd be interested to see what that amount is verses that they pay a TA in commission. That's all.

Again, see what I said above. Not interested in writing an iota of a sentence on them, I was just curious.

Was my initial post that unclear??

So initiate a dialogue with them and see what they offer. It doesn't mean you'd have to follow through with it if you're not interested in doing so for whatever reason. Just like getting quotes on anything else.

New trend of BA bloggers.. "throwback posts" Guessing they've been asked to bump their daily posts up to three times a day.

Points and Pixie Dust:
9/11 Post that was actually written last year

Points With a Crew - Series of posts from a trip from 2012

Points, Miles & Martinis
Overview of Amex Lounges

I use CIBT for all my passport/visa needs, and actually have had a few bad experiences with Allied. Wouldn't use them, let alone write about them.

I'm also curious to see what they pay for writing about them verses what they pay a travel agent for commission.

you were indeed very clear in that post.
others may not have read your prior discussion of being TA.

i agree with you and others that i find all these discussions interesting.
i will NEVER write anything of any kind anywhere other than flyertalk.

The Jetsetter's Homestead is following suit. Correction: trumping all of the above with a post from 2008 (!) that threatens to begin a whole "Throwback Thursday" series. I didn't get past the paragraphs introducing the old post but was at least rewarded with a reference to "naval grazing", an activity I'd not previously heard of. ;)

I had been ever-so-slightly optimistic about this new-ish blog, based solely on the lack of card pumping, but that was obviously a mistake. Her September 10 post about an apparently tragic incident in a BA lounge was just disgusting. :td:

"naval grazing"! mmm, who doesn't enjoy snacking on a frigate or a cruiser on occasion! You should try it. Oh and be sure and graze on First Fridays when you can use your Chase Sapphire Preferred card for bonus points on dining!!

I'll try to work in naval grazing one of my cruise reports later this year. (God, how I hate Apple's auto-correct dictionary.)

What is this Chase thing you speak of? (I don't speak that language.)

I find it somewhat amazing that her "about me" section is written in the third person...

Anywho, someone look at Heels First (contender for lamest BA blog name) and their article on advice for scoring first class upgrades. Then, could someone please tell me what value or relevance the two pictures have? The first one made me laugh because to me, it perfectly juxtaposed what appeared to be someone the airline wants in the seat and someone they don't.

Love this response to that article: Dressing nice and “just ask” absolutely do not work on any airline I fly frequently. I find that to be very irritating advice and I see a lot of people embarrassing themselves trying to use it. That’s just not how these things work. The gate agent couldn’t care less whether you’re wearing a suit or not. “Just ask” is only applicable if, like you said, you’ve somehow been badly inconvenienced and their only option is to put you in the front of a plane. It is worth speaking up for yourself. But if there are not mitigating circumstances there is virtually no chance that they will bump you up just for asking

:D
