What to do with 7 hours in AMS

Flight gets into AMS around 1PM on Jun 30, flight to LHR doesn't leave until evening, is it possible to venture into city? Any recommendations on what to do to kill some time?

Absolutely go into Amsterdam! Head over to a musuem. If you like Van Gogh, the Van Gogh musuem is perfect. (Although, musuems are super busy during summertime, filled with tourists.) Take a tour of the city on one of the canals, which is lovely.

It's definitely worth going into the city. It's just a short (~15-20 minute) train ride from Schipol to the central train station. Plenty to see within walking distance from the station, including the previously mentioned canal tour which is worth doing. You can also hop on one of the streetcars to head out to the museums and other areas. Well worth the trip from the airport!

Take yourself into the city for a Koffee at one of the many shops.

Seriously though 7 hrs is plenty of time. There is a station located under the arrivals hall where you can catch a train direct to Centraal Station in Amsterdam takes approx 15/20 mins. Here you will arrive right in the middle of the city.

There are lockers in the arrivals hall where you can store luggage/carry on untill your return later in the afternoon/evening.

There is plenty to do depending on what floats your boat.

IIRC this topic has been discussed in detail before many times on the KLM and NWA boards try doing on search on them for further tips etc.

Cheers
