Miles upgrade to first

I see Etihad Guest requires 39000 miles for a business to first class miles upgrade on AUH-LHR. Are there any restrictions on which business booking class is eligible for upgrade?

Also, are the J-F upgrades hard to come by typically on this route? It will be an A380.

Only a GuestSeat is not eligible for upgrade

You need an available F GuestSeat to be able to upgrade with miles at that 39,000 rate, there looks to be a lot of them available on AUH-LHR going by SeatSpy (Excluding peak times like Christmas). I think you can only do that sort of miles upgrade via the call center, and that'll take about 30 minutes on the phone while they tell you the system has issues.
NoY, view and Dogmatick like this.

Thanks, that is a nice overview that I did not find myself on the website. My D class looks good to go then, provided I can navigate any call center shenanigans.

Does anyone know how many miles it would cost to upgrade from J to F on AUH-LHR if there is no GuestSeat availability?
And if there is no GuestSeat availability, is a J to F mileage upgrade even possible?

Upgrade with miles to First should be available (assuming there are spare seats, but no GuestSeats), but it will just be a conversion of the cash upgrade to miles at 0.009 USD per mile, which is definitely not the best value you can get for your miles.

Thank you. I managed to get a great cash price for a return J ticket with EY from AUH-LHR. Looking to upgrade to F and have been quoted 90k miles return for both flights for the A380 Apartment (45k each way). This seems like a good use of points/great value to me (I already have 20k with EY Guest). Is this a good deal or a standard offer?

45k Sounds a reasonable price compared to what I've seen since the new system went live. According to the calculator, it would be 39k for a GuestSeat upgrade. But since the system went live it's been hard to find these, and only possible via the call centre (budget at least 30 minutes on the phone)
