Cheapest Segment

Hi
I'm not too many segments away from Platinum status. Although I will probably get enough segments in to tip me over into Platinum over the next few weeks I may need to do a flight or two to simply get status.

Any suggestions on the cheapest option from Abu Dhabi?

Thanks
G

Hi Gelksy,

Thank you for contacting us.

At this point we can't specify which option would be the cheapest as this varies depending on the destination itself. May we suggest you to get in touch with our call center agents (http://bit.ly/1xRL76b) who will be happy to do the necessary calculation to find a suitable flight to upgrade to Platinum status.
Please let us know if you have further questions.

Thanks
*RM

@gelsky; again another useless comment by etihadhelp.

how any miles do you need for platinum?
have you ver thought about a trip to germany?
Ex FRA do they currently sell BKK tickets in Y for 500-550€.
this should get you about 18000miles.AUH-FRA-AUH-BKK-AUH-FRA-AUH for example

Wow, that's amazing. However it's the number of segments I'll be using for platinum not tier miles - so shorter but more frequent segments probably better for me.

Flights eligible for Accrual
All International flights operated and marketed by Etihad Regional.
All flights operated by Etihad Regional and marketed by Etihad Airways.

I guess as it's a domestic flight, it would need to have Etihad (not Regional) as the marketing carrier (codeshare? ) to count.

On the other hand, as there is no passport check on domestic (or even intra-schengen) flights, in theory another person could fly those segments for you (Warning: wouldn't be legal!)
