How very expected.

fuel surcharge
Erm what fuel surcharge. AUH fuel is so cheap for airlines that BA and others fly via there to tank up. EY flies their flights to London filled to the gunnels to minimise or remove the need to refuel at London cost, the 380 for example can go there and back on one tank.
What fuel surcharge, the price has halved this last year. It is now cheaper than when ANY airline first introduced one. The only oil derivatives being used are ones for a certain jelly to lubricate our inflictions ! |
I got a few awards issued under the old rates which I can't fly and would ideally like to move them to after the summer. From my past experiance its always been a reissue at the new rates? Anyone got lucky?

What happens if I booked my GuestSeat before 8 July 2015 but I want to amend that booking after the programme changes have come into effect? You will not be impacted. The terms and conditions at the time of booking will remain in force, whereby you will still get one change free of charge, and additional changes will incur a standard charge of around US$28 each (AED 100). No additional miles will be deducted from your account and you will not incur any additional charges. |

You might want to bring this up to any agents who might want to charge you new rates and/or additional charges. |

Yeah but I am sure that is for travel within a year of ticketing as no ticket is valid beyond a year right?

while changing the dates WITHIN the validity of the ticket should not be a problem with the old rates, I doubt that changing the dates to AFTER the validity of the ticket (1 year) will be possible.

8.3.19. GuestSeat Reward tickets are valid for 12 months from the date that the GuestSeat Reward ticket is issued. Travel must commence within these 12 months. Once the first leg of the journey has been completed, the GuestSeat Reward ticket is then valid for 12 months from the date of that journey. OpenSeat Reward ticket validity is the same as that of the fare rule booked.

The changes to the miles earnings have already made a victim...
I was flying in E-class between AUH and BRU on 9 July 2015. The ticket had been booked in August 2014. I checked the number of miles that had I had been credited with for that sector and discovered that I had only been credited with 801 miles (0,25) instead of 1602 miles (0,50) as it should have been for tickets booked before 8 July 2015. I sent an email the same day to "Etihad Guest Gold" explaining the problem, asking them to credit the missing miles on my account, and even joined a copy of their own website explaining the "8 July rule", for reference. The Etihad "Premium Member Services" representative just sent me a very laconic answer, dismissing my claim and asking me to check their terms and conditions online http://www.etihadguest.com/ and their mileage calculator http://www.etihadguest.com/en/earn-m...ge-calculator/. Just above the mileage calculator, it is however clearly stated that "2- For tickets issued on fare classes E and Z prior to 8 July, you will earn at the old rates; 0.5 Etihad Guest Miles per mile flown on E (instead of 0.25), and 1.3 Etihad Guest Miles per mile flown on Z (instead of 1.15)". Obviously the Etihad representative didn't even try to read my mail and understand the claim. I've sent them a new mail this morning. Will see what happens with it soon...I hope. |

I booked a one-way Business class redemption the day before the devaluation in July 2015 for a flight in June 2016. I have just changed it to November 2016 without any extra miles or costs.
My original flight in June was re-ticketed last week due to a schedule change so I don't know if that helped or whether I just got lucky :-) |
