Upgrade Likely?

Hello all!

Long-time lurker, this is my first post...

I'm flying Economy from DXB to BKK on EK384 on Wed, Sept 23. Seatcounter shows the following:
A F O Y
7 0 0 0 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 9 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 7

(for some reason, I can't get the letters to appear above the numbers! In any case, A shows 7, F shows 2, O shows 9 and Y shows 7)

I was going to change my ticket to another flight, but might not if it looks like an upgrade is likely (I'm Gold). Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with all the classes, or if this reflects Emirates overbooking the flight or not. And since I'm flying with my girlfriend and we're starting from different cities (separate booking references, not a Skywards memeber) I'm concerned that if I do get upgraded, that she might not.

I would appreciate any help/insight! Thanks!

Just mention to them in the lounge that you are travelling with someon else, and see what the chances are of a free opup..

Although mentioning this may hinder your chances if there are other premium flyers on the flights..

Thanks for the responses!

I already saw the list of booking classes you posted above. I couldn't find O class, though. F is first, Y is economy, right?

What I'm wondering is whether Y class really has 7 seats left, or whether Emirates routinely overbooks and the plane is, in fact, full. In case of the latter, I would most likely get my upgrade (I hope!).

Does anybody know?

the maximum number under some classes posted on seatcounter is 7, so there may be more than 7 under Y.

Thanks for the help, everybody!

In the end, I decided to change the flight altogether. I had originally paid 646 EUR for my ticket, but now there was a sale going on for 398 EUR the same ticket. So even with the cancellation fee, I came out way ahead!

I booked the later flight out of Dubai on the A380 and then upgraded both of us to Business with miles.

So much for keeping the original flight and hoping for an upgrade. I would've been upset if I had kept the original flight, but not gotten an upgrade after still having paid so much more!

In any case, I appreciate all the advice!
