I am planning to fly from Houston to Dubai on 26th June and return on 6th July. I checked the fares online and it costs about $1505. I got an email from Emirates today about special fares to Delhi for $1168 and those flights are still via Dubai. Suppose if I buy my ticket from IAH-DXB-DEL-DXB-IAH is it possible to use only IAH-DXB-IAH?

HOU-DXB-DEL-DXB (stopover) - HOU
if the fare allows a DXB stopover that is

you could possibly take continental from hou-lon then hop onto an emirates flight around £350 rtn lon-dxb-lon
